Petition circulates to remove Confederate statue in Springfield

This hasn't happened yet, but I've seen several articles at other places of monuments in graveyards being removed.

While I'm a lot more sympathetic to public places like courthouses being moved, this is a line we shouldn't be crossing.

This is akin to Stalin erasing people from history he didn't like, ending up in a confusing history of the Soviet Union. Or more currently, like North Korea does.

FALSEST post of the day??

Topic Name "Libs try to defile another gravesite" But there post is about a PETITION. No one has tried to defile anything. And a gravesite?? It's a statue, not a gravesite.

Moderators should consider removing this inherently false topic.

i have no problem with removal of statues, but one lone liberal should not have a concern when his feeling are hurt. since the liberal want a mob rule government. let the public vote on which statues to remove and if they fail at the vote, then case over. same with flags, if the mob rule can get the vote then let it be so

I'm a liberal and I think all these statue removals are wrong. Sorry to ruin your narrative, feel free to continue bashing the big bad libs.

Unfortunately, truth in advertising doesn't apply to forum users.

I don't really understand why people post false or sensational headlines in the manner of News of the World or the Enquirer. It's not like they are getting paid for people to click on them right?

It is kind of weird when people turn the forum into a grocery store check out line display.

No. We can't give up our history and the things and people that made it for us.

Why don't we have a book bonfire?

Then how does someone with your obvious common sense become a liberal? Did you get thrown from a horse or something and maybe it's just temporary?
