I am glad you feel that way.

That's not how it happened, so we are on the same page here:

The security agencies were monitoring Russian government consulate traffic (a routine followed for decades) and also Russian bank traffic (tracking money laundering) and quite surprisingly these contacts with members of the Trump campaign started popping up.

No other campaign showed up, just the Trump campaign.

Co-incidentally (meaning in the same time period) Russian hackers were breaking into state and local election databases (possibly of as many as 39 states by last count) and also into companies that sell and maintain voting machine systems to local authorities. The hacking into email systems of political parties happened in the same time period.

That is why we have an investigation. Even if the Trump campaign was not implicated, we would still be investigating the hacking, which is a set of serious federal and state crimes.

But Mr Trump has expressed doubt about it all, and tried to block the investigations, so there is that ...

Flynn and Manafort are being investigated for their connections with acting as agents for foreign governments (Russia and Turkey - with connections to Russia) and accepting payments for such and not not reporting either. Both retroactively registered as agents for foreign governments which is quite telling. We'll see if they also lied to FBI agents as well. We know Flynn lied about meeting with the Russian ambassador and about discussing sanctions (Sally Yates confirmed this), for which he was fired from the Trump administration.

These are active investigations, so in due time, both will probably be charged with various crimes. It is all too suspicious given their previous pasts that they did not use these past connections with Russia that they did not use these during the campaign (which was confirmed by Trump Jr.'s emails that said Manafort was at the infamous meeting in Trump Tower in June 2016 to get damaging information on Clinton that they knew was coming from the Russian government (again from the emails).

The Russia investigation continues on each and every day behind the scenes with new information sporadically making it out into the public. It is far from going away.

Do you really expect the investigators and prosecution to look at evidence and make their case within the timeline of 'Law and Order'?

Exactly.

It seems that Mueller and his team are taking the job a lot more seriously than Trump takes his.

I don't get why people think that pretending to be stupid or pretending to have severe ADHD is an effective argument.

I still believe the rumor that trump would leave tomorrow if he could get a one billion dollar bailout.
