Probably true, but more a comment on human nature than on countries. As a matter of fact, if you'd been born in Pakistan, Iran, Russia, or China, you'd probably think THOSE were great countries, too. And you'd be constantly reminded of that through your society. I'm not sure how objective it would be, though..

It's worth noting, and not a little ironic, that most of those places MOST of us would call 'great' countries, are the very ones most willing to question their OWN greatness. That's actually a part of 'greatness'..the ability and the willingness to question OURSELVES.

because you said

Quote:
Only here in the GREAT UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CAN WE ALL DISAGREE AND CIVILY LIVE NEXT TO EACH OTHER WITHOUT KILLING ONE ANOTHER OR BEING CENSORED BY THE GOVERNMENT!!!!!!
Which either you were being overly dramatic or being naive as a result of a lack of exposure.

This is hogwash.
You might want to read the thread I started asking what freedoms the US only had, that no other country had.

Obviously, you are not acquainted with world history, politics and cultures.
Just because you have lived somewhere doesn't mean that you're an expert on the country or culture. I would assume you were a military brat. Probably lived on military bases, educated in American schools.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I think we have it made. The patriot act is less server than what governmant has done in the past during crisis. For years under both democrats and republicans the governmant was spyed on alot more people. In the UK they are watching your very step on camera almost evrywhere in london. Even that didn't really bother me.

America is a good country, but it isn't better than most other modern nations. In fact, in some ways it lags behind in certain aspects. It boils down to ones own personal opinion.
