Double standards wouldn't be so bad if we just acknowledged them, and accepted them when they were advantageous to either gender. The one double standard I can't stand is the one that says that a double standard that benefits women is OK but one that benefits men is evil or immoral somehow. Men and women are different, we are going to live different lives and yes those lives are often going to be judged by different standards. "Separate but equal" is a tainted term but the concept is sound in some circumstances.
