These folks are programmed (just like a coded application for a computer) to think and behave a certain way. Anything contrary to that way of thinking is considered dangerous to their coding and must be stopped if their "application" is to continue to function the way they have been programmed to function. Thought, considering, or even listening to a counterpoint is not an option.
