Meanwhile, Davis said, U.S. Northern Command estimates being able to increase the airlift flow rate from 3-6 aircraft per hour to 10 aircraft per hour into Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands -- for a total of 240 aircraft per day over the next 24 hours.

DoD is sourcing FEMA's request for additional medical support to both Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Davis said.

And, FEMA is preparing to ship 350 satellite telephones to facilitate response communications across Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, he added.

Puerto Rico Update

-- In Puerto Rico, the power utility is slowly restoring power to customers, including the Centro Medico Hospital in San Juan and San Pablo Hospital in Bayamon. The Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority reports that generators on the island are operational; however 80 percent of the transmission system and 100 percent of the distribution system are damaged.

-- Approximately 44 percent of Puerto Rico’s population is without drinking water. Eleven of 69 hospitals have fuel or power. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is moving providing electricity for hospitals with generators acquired by the Defense Logistics Agency and shipped by U.S. Transportation Command.

Great over a week later and for 24 hours they'll have those aircraft.

The real problem is going to be getting reimbursed from a broke FEMA especially after Texas and Florida are first in line.

Hopefully Republicans put politics aside and properly fund the recovery.

Puerto Rico has some unique issues, and they aren't going to be able to wait for a decade to get reimbursed for emergency spending. This very well could put them over the edge for default.

Sure enough, liberal drones are already saying, "See? How dare Trump spend so much more time on football players kneeling for the National Anthem, than worrying about the disaster in Puerto Rico?"

Mission accomplished for the Fake News Networks, as usual.

Big Three Elevate Trump/NFL Spat over Dire Puerto Rico crisis

By Nicholas Fondacaro | September 25, 2017 9:59 PM EDT

Hurricane Maria hit the U.S. island territory of Puerto Rico last Wednesday and since then, there has been an ever-worsening humanitarian crisis. Most of the island was still without power, supplies slow to arrive, and the threat of a failing dam as of Monday. Despite the terrible news coming from the island, the Big Three Networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) have dedicated far more time since Sunday to President Trump’s spat with protesting athletes than to the Puerto Rican people fighting to stay alive.

Between September 24 and September 25, the Big Three Networks spent a total of 92 minutes and 33 seconds of airtime hyperventilating about Trump's feud with various sports athletes. Compared to the 25 minutes and 45 seconds of total airtime between the three for Puerto Rico, over those two days. That means the networks spent 3.6 times more airtime on Trump’s Twitter war than the humanitarian crisis.
Trump drove the issues this week end. His repsonse ot Puerto Rico is a direct response to comments on social media and networks about the fact that so many were concerned he was doing nothing.

Trump is late to the party -- and so are you...so sad, too bad.....

Huh, that's weird, since the Governor wrote several tweets today thanking POTUS/FEMA for their excellent response...this one is from this morning:

@ricardorossello: We are very grateful for the administration. They have responded quickly. @POTUS has been very attentive to the situation

The White House was pressed over the week end about funding for disaster relief to Puerto Rico and their response was wouldn't even get request to congress until October.

Trump had little response or care for Puerto Rico until we people on social media started hounding him and the networks started asking when they would get some relief.

Trump then decided to step in. Six days later......WOW......He was sure busy with NFL tweets.

Driving the issues......WTG Trump

Right, that's why Trump declared a State of Emergency for PR on September 18, 3 days before the storm hit.

So, it looks like Trump did indeed do a lot. And the usual liberals are doing the usual frantic screeching, whining that it wasn't enough, or wasn't soon enough... which facts and witnesses on the scene contradict.

The OP was right. Ans the liberals networks are jumping on the panic button with both feet, trying their best to pretend that some tweets about football players somehow was more important or more voluminous that saving lots of lives in Puerto Rico.

Liberals are on a witch hunt, trying to pretend that this is Trump's "Katrina" because they want to make themselves feel better. They have NO facts to base this on. Its more so what they WANT to happen so they can find another reason to slam Trump.

I also find it hilarious that they only base this on his tweets he made over the weekend.
