60 minutes is making money first of all. They really want people to fear a war with NK because it makes us tune in. Its worked for years.
While there is probably some truth in their story, the scary bits are just to enhance the fear. It's a scary thought, which is exactly why they were excited to enhance it up for a story. I bet they had music and everything.
No use worrying about something that hasn't happened. Worrying about it does nothing to prevent it.

The reason NK (according to 60 Minutes) is "quiet" is that they actually must test a re entry rocket which would require a rocket to fly into the atmosphere at about the same trajectory and reenter the atmosphere without being destroyed. Thus far they have not done so, but should they TEST shoot a missile into the middle of the southern Pacific Ocean say about 3000 miles away, we had all better hold on to our pants.
When the 3 atomic bombs went off over Japan my parents who were at Pearl Harbor and said "it changed everything". These weapons are beyond anything human. It would be catastrophic for the USA and it's allies if NK can deliver...
Here's the reality that Clinton, Bush, Obama and Trump could not say about North Korea and their nuclear weapons program.
We cannot stop North Korea from doing anything. We can sanction them and ask other countries to join in, but in the end if North Korea does not care about this and continues on, there's nothing we can do to stop them short of attacking them.
Attacking them will not work because at any given time we don't know where Kim Jong Un is or a good number of his missiles, which can be directed towards Seoul, the rest of South Korea, Japan, Guam, etc... and impact them within minutes. So even if we attack North Korea, we cannot be sure that we would take out his capability to conduct a retaliatory strike on any or all of those places.
An invasion is unlikely, as we are not willing to commit the ground troops that it would take to successfully complete. And logistically, a troop build up (or even air strikes) by the US or our allies will be seen and give North Korea time to prepare. and give them time to prepare their retaliatory strike. And we would have to face the North Korean 1 million person armed force.
So unless we are willing to sacrifice Seoul, the rest of South Korea, Japan, Guam, etc..., Un is free to continue his development program without interruption.
Un knows all of this which is why he is free to, and does, test new missiles regularly.
Un doesn't want to loose power or be invaded, but he knows how far he can take his nuclear program to the limit without intervention. And after Trump said he would not certify the Iran nuclear deal, Un can point out that a deal with the US is not worth perusing because the US does not keep their word.
People seem to be missing the point... Neither China nor Russia has made any move to "Reel In North Korea"... its in their community and they've done nothing. 'We can tone down the rhetoric, because we can't go there and reverse the steps they've made to have N. Weapons, and China and Russia seems not to be having an issue with them having this weapon, and they are much closer to them than we are. Besides China and Russia has not tried to "choke them off", because they still feed the N. Korean People, even while knowing that N. Korea spends its money on weapons instead of its people. So, technically, when China and Russia support other things, they are and have been indirectly supporting the expansion of weaponry in N. Korea.
Why is the U.S. the main one with continuing Bluster????? There's an entire Global Community on this Planet, and we think we can control others and tell them what they can and cannot do?
We may care to promote some Moral Imperative, but its a bit difficult to back up, when we've blown up much of the Middle East, and only 50 some years ago, we nearly decimated Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam with carpet bombing, and Napalm until it was outlawed.
Thus so.... we have much to consider. Even with Iraq, we once supported Saddam, and at the same time, back-doored him, with the Iran-Contra entanglement.
As average people, we are not of interest to know what is done on the political and international interactive levels as to our government and what is its involvement, because "we feel we are always right", and others are not. That's a matter of much differences when it comes to global opinions and positions behind those opinions.
Everyone claims to want Peace, (under their terms), so... conflict rages.
The course set by Obama, to promote "DIPLOMACY", with the goal of pursuing and reaching "WORKABLE COMPROMISES" was fought by Republicans and Right Wingers with ever utterance they could regurgitate, and left to them, we would have been at War in Egypt, Syria and Ukraine and who knows where else. Thank Goodness President Obama was not a "warmongering arrogant man nor was he of the haughtiness of trying to be a global elitist with an imperialist agenda. He was about "Diplomacy" and working out agreements that considered all parties into a situation with multi nation support to make agreements.
We have a "NUT CASE" in Trump not only pushing that "White Nationalist Madness On The International Stage, he has promoted the arousal and spread of it on American social, in American society.
The world is not unaware of the destructive madness of such mentality nor are they unaware of the extent of vile that has historically been created by such a mentality and the agenda it promotes. Thus so, the world at this point... is not submitting to it. The stand of N. Korea is a message to America, that even the among the poorest and in many ways among the weaker nations, they are standing up saying... Nope, not this time and no more, anytime in the future. They have China and Russian behind them, and if truths were told... we'd know all the other countries who un-spoken-ly rally behind the stand N. Korea has taken to stand up to the Once Upon A Time, "Big Dog" on the block.... Today, just as with any big dog on the block, they get old, fat tired and weakened by their continual fight, and we have the results of that weakness with our broken down infrastructure, our greed driven exodus of Industry, and our desperate need to import everything we use in our daily lives... and we are walking around with Debt, that we could not pay off if we wanted to.
The world of nations is not unaware of this.
We are blind to what is reality.... Pre World War II... Europe was a well built and industrial nation, and it was turned into "rubble"..... one would be unaware of much, to think such things could not happen to many of the major cities on this land of American soil. We don't have a "Star Trek Force Field" around America.
Heck, it was during the President Bush administration during the lead of to the economic crash, that administration was trying to "sell" the management of our ports to Dubai.... And today, were have a greed masters trying to rip off the American Tax system AGAIN, while at the same time, ignoring the tax resources needed to rebuild our infrastructure... He does not care, because he has in his mind, means to Outsource, AND make us indebted to Saudi's wealth controls and Russian Monies, by his plans to become indebted to these entities to build something as crucial as our infrastructure.
That's the kind of stuff we did to Third World nations, and now we have a goon in office, that is doing it to us, because with 20 Trillion of Debt, we are now a Third World nation based on 21st Century Standards.
We have broken down infrastructure, power grid that is aged, and open to be hacked and shut down, we have among the slower internet downloads, and other countries have been streaming content for a decade, and we can't even stream a commercial without the thing stalling and buffering for 15 seconds.
We got the likes of Facebook, so busy chasing money, that they sold space to any Russian with money, yet... places like China has the ability to put in controls and manage their content, but we have such greed, that it fight the responsibility of what is regulation.
There is much more to look at than some vanity of pride.. and look at the reality of how we are being driven by Administrative Lack of Responsibility. We are 10 months with an arrogant vain egomaniac dummy in our Presidential seat, that can't even do the basic job to fill our governmental positions. Yet, people are too blind to see the constructive dismantling of America being done from the United States of America's Own Presidential Administration.
We better Relearn and Do so Quickly, what is the Value of Investing in American Small Business Development, and shut up about the cost and get over trying to deny particular groups access and means, and INVEST in the creation and development of Small Business that Leads to the Innovations for The Future.

It is not about prevention, we as ordinary people can do nothing about that. That said if you live in Tornado Alley, in a coastal area where Hurricanes can and do occur, live where earthquakes are a possibility, or an area know for wild fires, then you should be prepared to deal with those issues. Do you have a fire extinguisher in your home or car, how about a spare tire in your trunk, yet never had a home fire or flat? Some simple steps can make the difference between you and/or your families survival, if something does happen how are you going to explain to them that you did nothing to prepare for it? Use some Common Sense and you will find that everyone should prepare for whatever may happen to the best of their ability, those that do not may very well be sealing their own fate. Think
