Are they?

One of the nice things about the .223 round is that it drops almost all its energy when it hits something.....so the AR-15 with such a round is great for in house fighting. Its odds of going through the wall and continuing flying to take out someone not in the line of sight are rather low.

Of course, out on the ranch, if I can convince "them" to discontinue their nonsense a distance from the front door, so much the better.

Rather reminds me what my CHL instructor said about why .......

......................BECAUSE YOU WANT TO AND YOU CAN!

Now, as far as anything else goes, while it wasn't my post, rather don't like it when people try to put words in my mouth. You don't know if I want to kill, so don't assume that I do. You don't know my needs so don't assume them for me.

Who are the subjects if actual, measurable and exercised individual freedoms are the decisive factor?

Kellogs Corn Flakes stopped putting that silliness on the backs of their boxes decades ago. You can stop parroting it now. It no longer applies.

Why would one need that kind of gun to shoot cans? Yes, it is my business. We have a serious gun problem in this country and until we face it head on - nothing will change. You may not care but lots of Americans do.

I should own a bazooka and have a moat with hungry gators and never leave my family out of the end of my barrels site- really?
ridiculous to think that a gun can protect your family- may deter- may on occasion, but no guarantee my dear

The AR-15 is a medium to semi-long range weapon. Inside a house is close quarters, where a pistol works best

It is a great gun for hunting and target shooting.

Typical answer using all of the emotive parroted hot buttons with none of the common sense referred to.
