Advocates who say they want "just some reasonable regulations", know by now they won't work. The only thing they could now be intending, is an eventual complete ban on all guns. While pretending they will do only just a little, to fool you into going along with "just a little". And then next year, just a little more.

Their total gun bans must be accompanied, of course, by SWAT teams going door to door to every house and apartment in America, taking people's guns whether they want to give them up or not. They know that many people will object to giving up their guns voluntarily... but a gun ban won't work unless everybody turns in their guns.

If only 1% of the 160,000,000 households that have guns, objected to the government taking them away, that would mean more than a million and a half pitched battles all across the country. Hundreds of thousand of law-abiding Americans would likely be killed. All for some dreamy-eyed liberal's half-baked opinion that confiscating all guns would bring peace. And that's if 99% of households meekly turn them in when government orders them to.

Simply obeying the 2nd amendment of course, would also reduce crimes and gun violence. That's why the 2nd was put into the Constitution. It simply forbids all governments from restricting the people's right to carry weapons of their own.

But legislators have been violating it left and right, enacting illegal legislation that makes criminals out of citizens who simply do what the 2nd says, and so discouraging them from carrying a weapon - a fact that criminals note with interest and appreciation.

Advocates who say they want a few "reasonable regulations", are either astonishingly ignorant of the results of their own policies, or are lying to you.

Maybe we should offer to the people who say "Let's get rid of all guns", that they will lead the squads that must go house to house to collect them. And they can have the honor of knocking on the door and explaining to the homeowner why he - a law-abiding citizen who has never killed, injured, or even threatened a person with his guns - must now give them up to a government that has proven itself incapable of protecting him and his family.

One benefit of making these dreamy-eyed liberals lead the SWAT raids, is that after a few such collection attempts, they'd never make another ridiculous suggestion like "Let's get rid of all the guns".
I don't care about guns, I just want you to pay for your obsession. Mandatory insurance for each gun you own, national register of gun owners so that when a gun turns up in a crime we can trace it back to the last owner, and stiff penalties for any guns that are "lost."

The scale is by century but as guns probably became more common, you see an increase in school shootings with what looks like an inflection point in the 1950's.

So long as statements such as the one above continue to murk in political conversation, we'll probably never move forward on the gun debate...
It's never a debate if people think a gun can shoot all by itself or that one type of gun is more dangerous than another. It always quickly switches away from the human element to an inanimate object, which is ridiculous.

They don't use guns, they use machetes, you see, in countries that ban fire arms it is the person with the biggest knife that normally wins.

In the UK, you can't even buy a knife until you are 18 because stabbings are so prevalent.

And they also use guns that are obtained illegally. The Paris shooters used fully auto, AK-47's, as well as explosives if memory serves.

I would like to own one, but cannot afford it.

Accessibility to guns
There is no strong family support
mental health and access to healthcare
Here there is no 2nd chance, for example, one time if you go to jail there is no way you can change your life back to normal
Yes they do.
The United States is 94th out of 219 countries in terms of intentional murder rate. India is 87th, making your chances of being murdered in India slightly higher than the US.

Default Feb 27, 2017: Donald Trump Signs Law Making It EASIER For The Mentally Ill To Buy Guns

What is wrong with Trump? What is wrong with Republicans in Congress? A law that makes it easier for the mentally ill to buy guns? What kind of idiot would vote for that? The day will come when there will be blood on the hands of Trump and Congress for voting for this nonsensical bill.
