McConnell said it best .......... "You can't craft any tax bill that guarantees that every single taxpayer in America gets a tax break. What I'm telling you is the overall majority of taxpayers in every bracket would get relief."
I don't understand what this talk of about "liberals crying" is about. I am a right-leaning centrist that most often votes Republican but I think this bill is a meek attempt to pass "tax reform" that simply shuffles the tax burden around within the middle class while throwing red-meat to the ultra-rich without addressing the deficit. To me its not a partisan issue, but whether the tax proposal is actually good for the country and the economy as a whole.
Why are people so worried about whether liberals or conservatives are upset by the other side's proposed policies? Shouldn't you be more concerned about the net benefit of the policy insofar as the country is concerned?
Just the other day they were crying it was gonna blow up the deficit.. now its gonna raise taxes...

No reason it can't do both, pgh. It will raise the deficit by $1.7 trillion while at the same time raising tax rates for middle and upper middle class Americans. But the top percentile and corporations get huge cuts, so big that the raises on the middle class can't cancel them out. Thus, huge deficit increases.

honestly- the answer for most posters on here is that they either don't understand or don't care about the substance of the bill, they just want their "team" to win at the expense of the other side. It's a sick way to run a country and typifies the unfortunate shift in present thinking focused solely on shallow short term gain.
