Why are you pretending it won't benefit the rich

Sounds like you are saying the bill will hurt the stock market. Is that it?

Targeting blue States was a very bad move, and will cost the GOP.

unlikely as the blue states already dont like the GOP by definition, so its more like what goes around...comes around

Obama care insurance mandate. What do you think will be the result of removing it? What I am thinking is some percentage of the population with nothing much to lose will drop their medical insurance. Then if they want medical treatment they will simply go the the emergency room, ultimately not pay for the services, and the cost for their treatment will be passed on the rest of the people.

Am I looking at this wrong?

You're likely right here.

The big picture, imho, is the failure to consider the natural & long term consequences will cost all of US.

People don't like targeting, even if they are not the targets themselves.

Yes, they will go back to using ER for their medical needs, where the costs are 10 times higher than at the docs office. The rest of us will pick up their bill.

Don't think you're off base here, "When you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose" ( Bob Dylan's 'Like A Rolling Stone' ).

Long term v short term benefits &, of course, either way, 'Cui bono?'

Even if this was a purely politically motivated ploy, it still doesn't make sense economically. It's a challenge to defend by using long term economic 'past performances' to support.

I thought it an apt analogy to compare to a 'Ponzi Scheme'.
