Note: Jesus of Nazareth was not born on December 25th. That was the birthday of Mithra, the Persian sun god. The Romans enjoyed the December 25th festivities so much that the early church fathers adopted this date as the birthday of Jesus.
The trappings of modern day Christmas like decorated trees, colored lights, holly and mistletoe were borrowed from the Yule, the northern European pagan solstice festival.
When people wish me a Merry Christmas, I thank them politely and wish them a "cool Yule."
NYC also has a large Jewish population. I know a lot of Jews that celebrate Christmas, watch all the Christmas specials, etc. If I know someone is Jewish I say Happy Hanukah.
Have Christians, Jews and others in my family, I do the same.

Yes, the War on Christmas whiners are just mad that there are people who are different from them. That includes Jews, Muslims, Atheists, Buddhists, Hindus, etc.
I feel somewhat bad for them. They've taken what is supposed to be a happy time and turned it into an excuse to be angry and miserable.

I am Jewish. I enjoy Christmas, even the music and decorations, but especially the cheer, as an American holiday. But there is one intensely Jewish religious custom in which I partake, and partook earlier tonight; ordering and picking up a large Chinese food order.
It's like everything else -- it depends on how you define "anti-semitic". If you think something has to be bad to be anti-semitic, then, no. it's not anti-semitic. If anti-semitic just means something the organized Jewish community doesn't like, well, you'll just have to ask Jonathan Greenblatt and the JCPA.
