So give money tot he state to write it off. The state is not a charitable organization so how can giving the state extra money be written off.
You're incorrect. I can donate all the money I want to a local school district for charitable purposes and write that off my tax return. I know this because my mother frequently made large donations to the local school district and than claimed a deduction. The school district was so used to it that they even set up a special foundation for that purpose.
Many of us don't like the President's tax bill. My principal concern with it is that it enlarges the federal deficit. I also think the tax money collected would be better spent on rebuilding America's infrastructure--a promise Trump seems to have already forgotten about.
Then I guess all states should eliminate state income tax, right? How about getting rid of property tax too..and that pesky sales tax that's just another liberal attack on the middle class, right?

Most states with high real estate taxes pay far more in federal tax than the rest of the states. We should have bigger concerns about the rest of the nation funding parasite states like Florida.
The fed getting less revenue is a good thing in my books. You pro-tax people just want bigger government and the rich to pay for more than their fair share.
So you are happy with larger deficits, everyone pays less taxes and no cuts to spending.

He is not pandering and he is using the current tax code as designed, maybe he should start a one man revolution and pay more taxes. You should listen to billionaires when they educate you on the disparity in our current tax system, they have nothing to gain.

Cut the costs by stopping bureaucratic expansion. There are ALOT of non essentials that can be cut out in Albany and Colonie...

Civil servants should be paid a civil servants wage, not the gravy train with benefits and pensions galore.
I bet someone who maintains the park near the capital building in NY probably earns 45 50k per year. Down here that's a 8.50 per hour job. No benefits. And you work for it.
