I don't think this is really any different than MADD which started out as a grassroots organization. When your fed up, your fed up and you do something about it. MADD had the drinking age changed from 18 to 21. I don't know why you think these kids are misguided. I commend them for their compassion about this.
Well, that's one of those things.
Personally, I hate how this country age discriminates. If you are held responsible as an adult, you should be able to have the privs of one. If you don't, then you shouldn't be held responsible as an adult.
Now if you want to say, "Something had to be done and that did work," then, Fine......but don't go half way on a population just because it is "convenient".
If they are taking the risks, they should get the rewards.

They don't get it. They are reacting to a symptom. Treat mental illness. That's the cause.
Lol, and who controls the millions of gun owners? Let's say you convinced the GOP and even NRA to ban the assault rifles. Do you expect every single gun owner to turn their weapon in, the minute government gives them a command to do so? The very same scenario a lot of them armed themselves to prevent?
Do you think that when Trump and his gang have their dictatorship fully in place, that they will allow anyone like you to continue possessing any guns? Those who want to keep their guns, had better toss him out, as soon as possible. And the corporate power-brokers behind Trump, will also subjugate everyone eventually and goodbye to all personal firearms.
I commend their passion, but condemn their logic. They just lived through proof that gun free zones are useless, so they want to expand gun free zones.

Too many Republicans in Florida politics. They have the most lax gun laws. The Students have had enough but they need to vote if anything is going to get accomplished.

Thus highlighting the sheer futility and stupidity of legislating/establishing "gun-free zones." Might as well just post signs stating "Easy Targets Here."
Time to remind everyone, again, that the FACT is that as the gun ownership rate increased by 50%, the gun homicide rate DECREASED by 50%, and the nonfatal violent gun crimes rate DECREASED by 76%.

I am a registered Democrat, card carrying NRA member. From a selfish point of view you can ban the sale of guns AFTER I complete my collection I am still working on that
