This idea is the dumbest thing ever. So you ban an AR15 or AK really? Ever heard of a Mini 14, Ruger 1022, or any number of other sesmi autos? If any state out right bans semi autos there is a chance it will go to the SCOTUS, I hope this happens and it gets knocked down once and for all.
Note to the newbie..not all semi-auto's are assault-style weapons. You should know full well that the weapons under discussion are those that imitate the military grade weapons in look and feel. Despite some ingenuous statements, they are not hunting weapons.

I doubt that the constitutionality of the law even passed their minds--the thought of losing all that NRA money certainly did. Assault-style weapons have been banned before..and they passed the Constitutional test with no problem.
BTW..when did it ever get in your head that only Liberals feel the need to do something? The gist of your comments seem to be that mass shootings are just the cost of doing business..and that your version of the 2nd amendment must be watered with the blood of innocents. It seems too high a price to pay for you to own your penis substitute..without some controls--controls that have been instituted in the past..and have been found to be constitutional.
You and your ilk do not get to define what is, and what is not, Constitutional..that is left to the SCOTUS...and they have clearly ruled that reasonable controls on weapons do not violate the 2nd.
I'm a gun-owning supporter of the 2nd amendment..and nobodies idea of a Liberal..or at least what a liberal is today.
The SCOTUS never even touched the second amendment in the 90's during that AWB. Banning the most popular small caliber rifle in America is not going to pass any test of constitutionality.

Why so much concern over what a gun looks like? And that's all these so-called "assault weapon" bans are about. Cosmetic features.
