Yeah, if only all of us had been given the incredible opportunity of watching our friends and peers slaughtered in front of us. Man, he's so lucky! I bet there are students all over the country watching him and hoping it happens to them, too.

What a sick thing to say about someone who suffered a trauma and wants to make sure no one else has to see what he has seen. But one that is wholly unsurprising coming from a gun fanatic.

Yeah I'd happily let my kid watch his friends get murdered in front of him for a chance to be an activist and appear on TV and maybe score some college money.

You really need to look at yourself. This is a sick statement.

Note to the newbie..not all semi-auto's are assault-style weapons. You should know full well that the weapons under discussion are those that imitate the military grade weapons in look and feel. Despite some ingenuous statements, they are not hunting weapons.

Perhaps you might look at the round fired? .223 is not a deer hunting round.

Unrecorded voice vote overturned by a more formal roll call vote?

That’s hardly passing legislation and reversing it. Lmao.

No way a GOP wins that Senate seat, even if Scott pretends to favor assault weapons ban.
What percentage of people are aware that an AR15 is not an assault rifle?

I doubt that the constitutionality of the law even passed their minds--the thought of losing all that NRA money certainly did. Assault-style weapons have been banned before..and they passed the Constitutional test with no problem.

BTW..when did it ever get in your head that only Liberals feel the need to do something? The gist of your comments seem to be that mass shootings are just the cost of doing business..and that your version of the 2nd amendment must be watered with the blood of innocents. It seems too high a price to pay for you to own your penis substitute..without some controls--controls that have been instituted in the past..and have been found to be constitutional.

You and your ilk do not get to define what is, and what is not, Constitutional..that is left to the SCOTUS...and they have clearly ruled that reasonable controls on weapons do not violate the 2nd.

I'm a gun-owning supporter of the 2nd amendment..and nobodies idea of a Liberal..or at least what a liberal is today.
The SCOTUS never even touched the second amendment in the 90's during that AWB. Banning the most popular small caliber rifle in America is not going to pass any test of constitutionality.

Why so much concern over what a gun looks like? And that's all these so-called "assault weapon" bans are about. Cosmetic features.

It was like..'lets have a meaningless voice vote'...and then...Ooops! Redo...ahhh..back in the arms of Father NRA. "We didn't mean it, really..please don't take your bags of money away...Pullleeesssee!"

But makes ya wonder..was the voice vote miscounted..or did everyone think that they could make a meaningless mark ...so that they could say to their constituencies, "See..I tried."

I bet there was plenty of opportunity for some humor..in that 15 minutes!

" on the sale of AR-15 assault rifles"
Anybody who knows anything about guns KNOWS the AR is NOT an "assault" rifle.Cosmetics do NOT change what a rifle is and isn't.
