Obesity and obesity-related illnesses kill many times more people each year than guns. I'd be much more impressed if the obese could actually control their own behavior, and fix the problem by stopping all their overeating.

This may well be the first generation to lay down their lives and surrender their property to predators on the highest moral principle... stupidity.

Children who have no right to own guns are led to protest the adults who do.
Tapping into youthful rebellion to make better socialist serfs. . . Brilliant!

Really? Stage II of their indoctrination.

They'll learn to walk and look at their phones on their way to Struggle Studies 101.

Yes they are "kids" but these are the same people who are expected to learn; Physics, Calculus, and Chemistry. The gun issue in America is less complex than learning about Quantum Physics.

The obesity/overeating issue is even less complex than that. Overeat = become obese. Yet US kids have a 33% obesity rate (not just overweight... OBESE).

Obesity is a MUCH more prevalent cause of death than guns.

We can all hope they make the most of their education, but there is a sinister element in being taught by professors whose life goal is to change America into their Socialist model.

Getting kids to eschew firearms is an important element of the Left's plan.

Back to the topic; most of the kids participating are doing it because of peer pressure. They don't know much about guns and don't care that they were never taught.

They get a couple of unsupervised days away from mom and dad out of town, and will get interviewed by a supportive media.
If nothing else is accomplished, there will be a lot of underage drinking and a number of pregnancies as a result of this mini-vacation!

Find a few hours of your Saturday to help soften the credibility of these events.

Can they vote?

I've never been a teenager watching my classmates gunned down. Have you? I don't pretend to know what they're feeling and I have no idea how far this will go. But you cannot deny that without their efforts gun laws in Florida would not have changed.

As for ignorance, I've read a hell of a lot more of it on this board than I've heard from these kids. This is a country that elected a ****** as potus.

Those kids are too stupid to put 2 + 2 together.

"Obesity is a serious concern because it is associated with poorer mental health outcomes, reduced quality of life, and the leading causes of death in the U.S. and worldwide, including diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and some types of cancer."
https://www.cdc.gov/obesity/adult/causes.html

33% of kids in the US are already obese before age 18.

There aren't even close to 33% of kids in the US that have a gun.

The kids would do much more to focus their efforts on the US's #1 cause of death: obesity.

Death by obesity is self-inflicted. Your schoolmates can't surprise you one day and kill you with fatness.

Not a very good analogy.
