There is no such thing as an "assault style" firearm (or, "assault weapon"). That is a made-up term by the anti-gun lobby, radical Leftists, because it sound scary, so it serves their purpose to scare people over to their side of the debate. These are people who know noting about guns. They just want them banned.

As a note, I don't own any AR platforms but, although it's derided, I do see the slippery slope because I've seen it attempted to be played out here in Maryland.
I miswrote what I bolded. Pump actions were outlawed in Australia. In the original list I quoted the only long guns allowed to be kept there were double guns (SxS and O/U), bolt action and single shot.
Nobody wants to ban all firearms, as has been stated here repeatedly. If you still believe that , there is a comprehension problem.
Taking no action, as we have done for the last 20 years at the bidding of the NRA, has accomplished nothing. No matter what is proposed, the NRA crowd is against it. Draw you own conclusions. I certainly have.

Why is it that the same people claiming it's not a gun issue but a mental health issue are often the very same ones who are not supportive of health care that is accessible and affordable for everyone? Because those people don't give 2 craps about anyone or anything outside of themselves & their guns. They don't care about gun violence let alone mass shootings, they revel in it.
