No need to get bent. I think if you look at what I wrote - without the emotions - it still stands, you are not passionate enough about the incident to make an issue of it. Should you? That is up to you. You can look at that as good, bad, or indifferent, but it still stands. You are not concerned ENOUGH to go out into the streets about this man's death.
The reason that a POC's shooting gets more press is not because he is non-white, but because the community reacts stronger and THAT is what drives the news stories. If the news crews arrives and no one is there, no matter what community we are speaking of, if no one is there - they go home and forgetaboutit. Nobody reacting means that TV and Radio and Print won't care - not any more than you do or don't care.

I know you expect some sort of a fight over this (and maybe you will get it) but if you read the article, the man was acting nutty, pacing around, wouldn't drop the screwdriver, they tasered him, he yelled at them and then lunged at them. Police are human too and they have to protect their own lives.
Turns out he was a former mental patient and here we go again...mental health needs addressing in this country. That's what this is all about. I don't care what color he was. Mental health is not getting treated.
It's a good thing screw drivers aren't available anywhere else in the world otherwise this would be something we see everyday in Europe and Japan...

How bout "Man Attacks Police with Screwdriver and is Shot for his Stupidity"
The big difference is that, unlike police killings of black men, there is concrete evidence that this man actually attempted to attack the police, AND they made a reasonable attempt to stop him with non-lethal force.
Once again... There is media coverage - else nobody would know about it.
Why isn't there more coverage... because YOU don't care enough.
And once again... for some reason, white people "choose" not to protest when their own are killed by cops. I guess they think it's no problem. As for riots. They are always rare.
Not entirely true...the U.S. Park Service Police shot a man on the G.W. Parkway (after he was rear ended and ran away from the accident-go figure). There is at least some interest from his parents and locally, since the Fairfax County police have it on film. However, no one is talking about why, or any of the particulars......
