Kids, nor any adult human don't want utopias. The human condition does not tolerate them nor do they want to live in one. Maybe leave the kids alone more to work things out amongst themselves instead of helicopter teachers, and parents doing it for them. They will learn valuable life lessons.

Normally I would agree, but when its EVERYONE that are being so overprotective and sheltering of their kids, well, more than likely those are the kinds of people they will be working with, working for, in the future, so if they are like this, it may not be so bad.

At both of my grandchildren’s preschools, in different states, they say “friends” rather than boys and girls. I haven’t heard of the word best being banned. But I like the use of friends, inclusively, instead of boys and girls.

Yeah, once "friends" are set up, "enemies" are automatic.

Loyalty over all other L words.

Loiters are unexceptable.

Fish in schools - Forgot "friends", just say "fishes".

Get down to their level!

Ma'am Fish or Sir Fish when addressing a power fish. (Or even talking about them!)

There are fish hierarchies. I seen 'em on the internet!

There are different hatcheries, ya know!

A federal judge got his brain all bungled, and demanded to know where I was "educated".

He dropped his hatchet and paid the price.

I looked at the website of this private, non-profit preschool. They are saying that they have no such policy to ban the use of "best friend." I don't know where the truth of this situation is, but it may be that all the "discussion" on this thread is over nothing. The whole thing might have been a misunderstanding or just one employee acting as a loose cannon. Parents certainly have the right to remove their children from situations that they deem to be negative, but I don't know how so many people on this thread can pass judgement when they don't really know what happened. It mostly seems like an excuse to jump into the fray to identify with a tribe. But if you enjoy being outraged, (on one side or the other) go for it.

Exactly. It's like the conservatives forget their own "let local decide" "principles."

The truth is that conservatives truly believe in nothing other than the different lies they are fed with the seasons.

This^

People will search for things to create outrage and rant about those awful others (liberals, cons, whatever).

You seems to have something in common with C-D user tovarisch in a deleted post of the thread who was saved on the Wayback Machine.
