That probably is at the base of why you don't grasp the illegal immigrant issue.
It's corporate welfare.
The right people benefit from illegal immigration. Corporate America loves having millions of sub-minimum wage workers who won't unionize and don't complain about no employer sponsored health care plans. They just live in subsidized housing and take advantage of hospital emergency rooms. All of that paid for by the tax paying public. Helps to boost the bottom line and fatten the fat cats.
Because we aren't a Dictatorship YET. That is why.
Go read up on what's required to build this wall. And the impediments. And the lawsuits. There was a lot of discrimination in condemning and getting the land through eminent domain. The lawsuits from the Bush administration are still pending. What do you think will happen if they really get serious? Have they done the surveys yet? How long do you think that will take?
Trump should just demand his border wall, as you say - and then announce that since it is so central to his campaign pledge, he will resign unless Congress unconditionally allocates the funds by Memorial Day.
Alot can happen between now and whenever. Would not surprize me on oct 1 to see govt just go into a perpetual CR. Or contunuing resolution - this wall will never happen in our lifetime.
Agreed, bring it on, the closer to the midterm elections, the better!
Yup but my point is "shutting down the goverment" and closing the country which is what he said ...are two different things and he doesn't have the power to close the country down.
