Dialogue is not the same as talking about how it is the USA's fault not Russia's that there is a 'bad' relationship.
Dialogue is not the same as talking about how great these brutal regime leaders are.
Unfortunately Trump's use of the English language is stunted and his eagerness to make some kind of big move on the world stage has him practically bowing at the fee of two brutal leaders.

Trump basically apologized to Russia for the USA being the reason for all the bad feelings between the USA and Russia lately.....since when is it okay for the President of the USA to criticize a previous administrations policy on foregin soil and to take the side of a nation that is most definitely not a friend......

It is mind boggling.

The whole -- nobody but the translator deal -- sets up a whole mess because it doesn't clarify what Trump's position is.

What is Trump's position?

Russia did nothing wrong ever?
Oh Russia might have done some silly things but we want to be friends?

"National Review’s Jim Geraghty wondered the same. “Remember how much we condemned then-senator Barack Obama’s pledge to ‘meet separately, without precondition, during the first year of your administration, in Washington or anywhere else, with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea, in order to bridge the gap that divides our countries?’ That wasn’t wrong,” Geraghty wrote.

The issue now is that Trump is a fool who rushes in completely unprepared on the issues and without goals except getting a photo op.,, and then claims victories that never happened. He got completely played by Kim. (no nuke agreement, no remains returned.... Both of which Trump claims happened.)

Yep , kind of why its not a good idea to fall for partisan BS. Obama ending the Cuba stand off was one of the few things I could agree with.

It's very simple.

It's GOOD to sit down with world leaders in a normal diplomatic setting -- with aides, advisors and translators. The way the previous 44 presidents did it.

It's BAD to sit down with an adversary one-on-one with no aides, advisors, or transcribers. We have no idea what was discussed, what Trump negotiated away. It's ESPECIALLY BAD for Trump to have a secret meeting with the same leader who has been accused of attacking our election.

NK is nothing but a blood sucking leech.

Once you meet their "demands", they shut up. Give them just enough to survive will be MUCH better than having a war with them. (because, well, China is backing them)

What I find laughable is Republicans used to consider dialogue with enemies bad.
