Gates says he and Manafort didn't report 15 foreign accounts, knew it was illegal
Rick Gates, the key prosecution witness in the tax and fraud trial of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, testified Monday he had committed crimes alongside and at the direction of his former partner -- and had also stolen from Manafort himself.
In stunning testimony, Gates stated he and Manafort had 15 foreign accounts they did not report to the federal government, and knew it was illegal. Gates said he did not submit the required forms "at Mr. Manafort's direction."
Gates then admitted that he also turned the tables on Manafort -- cheating him out of "several hundred thousand" dollars by submitting false expense reports that were paid out of some of the undisclosed foreign bank accounts in Cyprus. https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/06/polit...ump/index.html

Gates voluntarily revealed to the jury that he took a deal. I have learned that cases that look to be slam dunks are anything but. If it get's to a Jury anything can happen. However, the way Mullers team has been misstepping it's like they are still hoping for an 11th hour deal with Manafort.
They don’t need anything, this is a slam dunk based on testimony but they would love Manafort to join the crowd and provide more information. You have any cases to compare this let’s hear them. This should be over before next week, why isn’t Manafort making a deal.
Gates is required to reveal he has a deal. Thats normal for these things. And this is not the first time I have seen this nonsense where folks think this reveal is unusual. And Muellers team is doing fine. LOL.
Where are you fed this nonsense about the deal being revealed being bad? Because wherever you get that from is feeding you nonsense.
Currently where I do this the minimum is a dime given the 10-1 odds against Manafort. (Right up until Gates testified he had much better odds)
The nickel is due to the exculpatory evidence (assumption my part) that the prosecutors are hiding. If you watched the Ted Stevens D -AK trial you know what I mean....
