if any group in this country is discriminated against, it is directed at Asians in college admissions, yet Asians are the highest earners in the country.
The big problem is that when blacks get picked for such college and jobs, they end up failing at college because they could not handle the course work load, or handle the task of that job they have been hired for. A good example was the black woman who became and FDNY firefighter here in NYC. She failed so much, and she became a firefighter.

Do you think the enticement of welfare, or as another poster put it, enabling people to be on welfare is a detriment to growth? If government is going to send money to the single parent why does the other parent need to stay around or be involved as much? or why work more than 20 hours a week when that is a qualification for food stamps, working say 25 hours a week and that person makes too much to get those food stamps.
Yes, and the proof of that is in liberal NYC, where the mayor demanded a $15 minimum wage. Immediately, the workers at McDonalds asked that their hours be cut to 20 a week, since their new income ($60,000 for a couple) disqualified them for many of the freebies. They would rather work less and remain on the dole than work a full-time job and become self-sufficient.

And just as bad, the franchise owner essentially doubled his compensation expenses while the government remained on the hook for providing the same $$ of taxpayer-funded benefits (only now to people earning $15 hour for half-time work). Why don't we raise the hourly rate to $25 an hour, and then people can cut back to 12 hours a week!

Well, jeez.....you can always find exceptions. Studies show, without a doubt, that children are generally better off in two-parent homes.

It seems to me that you are going out of your way to "explain away" the damage that comes from a high OOW birthrate aming blacks.

Jews too. They need much higher scores to get admitted to college, and thus are discriminated against in comparison with blacks and Hispanics with lower scores, yet also are the highest earners in the country.

Not really. Look at how many marriages end in divorce. 40% to 50%. What impact do you think that has on kids?

Facts don't care about emotions. Fact - Studies show that overall, children are significantly better off in two parent homes.

Has a negative impact. But we are talking about children who NEVER had a parent in the home. Plus, many if not most of the marriages ending in divorce are after the kids are out of the formative years, or even out of the house.

You sure are working hard to show that a horribly high OOW birthrate has not contributed to the higher poverty rate among blacks. You are doing nobody any favors by essentially saying "go ahead and have as many babies as you want without a husband, even if you have to go on welfare, because it doesn't hurt your kids or family, or their chances of success." That kind of denial IS, in part at least, keeping blacks down. All they need to do is:

1) Graduate from high school
2) Get married before babies

3) work a fulltime job

Do just those 3 things and one has a 75% chance of being middle class or higher.

Right. I forgot to mention the job. I thought it would go without saying, but maybe not. Able-bodied adults need to work.

I saw a video on Instagram Wednesday of a guy pulling up next to a black man at a red light and calling him the n-word 8 times.

Racism is alive and well in this country, there are millions of Americans who hate blacks, and/or Hispanics, and/or Muslims.
