Most every Mormon that I know is Pro-Life. Unless Dems change there stance I dont see many switching.

You are certainly welcome to believe that last sentence. Doesn't make it true, though.

I voted for him despite his position on certain issues, because I felt that he would be a better president than either Trump or Hillary.

you didn't take it as an insult....you admitted that you voted for Mcmullin and have no clue where he stands on the issues....then you admitted you voted for Bernie in the primaries and would have voted for Huntsman JR......so you vote on personality, not the issues because all of those candidates you mention and voted for are to the extreme opposite.

Huntsman is a conservative of open markets and lower taxes, against abortions on demand, supports the right to life amendment, is for school vouchers, pro second amendment and is against banning assault weapons, ....Bernie is the opposite on him on most issues but you support either one for President because you could care less about the issues. It's all about personalities for you.

that's like voting for Ted Kennedy for President in 1980 primaries and then voting for Reagan in the general and then when they ask you about the issues on each candidate you don't know and don't care. You just like their hair and how they speak and act nice in front of the cameras....lol

Actually, I did vote for Bernie in the primaries and would have voted for him in the general election had he made it that far. To be perfectly honest, I really, really wish I could have voted for Jon Huntsman, Jr. In my opinion, he would have made a fantastic president.

so you think a socialist would make a fantastic President? lol......I rather stay with Trump...if you want to give most of your money to the government you can do that on your own and send them a check if it makes you feel better.

Well, I have to hand the Mormons this....they are far more consistent and less hypocritical than the Far Right Evangelistic Christians. (That's not saying a lot...but I can respect them for showing some consistency with their convictions.)

That's probably because liberals are desperately trying to find either loop holes or create legislation so they can tax religious factions. Doesn't help that they fight tooth and nail for abortions when most religions are against abortions and consider it a sin.

don't worry you can vote for Bernie Sanders like candidate in 2020 or Warren. I'm sure Mormons are big into socialism.
I would for anyone but that lying pile of garbage in the White House.

Mormons are conservative as a group. But many still hold their noses when they see that lying pile of garbage in the White House open his mouth.

Yes, I voted for him. And for the second time, I did not say that I had no clue where he stood on the issues. If you're going to attribute something to me, at least have the decency to actually quote me, because your paraphrasing sucks.

Yeah, I just liked Bernie's hair.

It's about issues with me, but it's also about values: integrity, decency, compassion, morality, civility and honesty.

I think the journalist who wrote that story was a tad too optimistic about Mormons voting for Democrats. Time will tell.

I took it to mean they would simply sit out the election. In some of the Western states, Mormon support could be the R margin of victory. I would compare it to the number of blue collar, younger, and African American voters who sat it out in the Rustbelt states in 2016. Trump didn't need a stronger performance because of the number of people who simply stayed home instead of voting fro Clinton.

Arizona is the only place I could see this actually impacting a Senate race- although I am not convinced all the undecided voters won't 'go home' and vote R in the end. I could see this having an impact on a couple of house races if things are very close. Similar to Cubans going more R in 2000 after the Elian Gonzalez case. In a normal year that does not tilt an election but when things are razor close it can.
