This is not "concealing his true intentions". Each case is supposed to be decided on its merits, which vary, and are not easily explained by hypotheticals.
By the way, google which Supreme Court justice I quoted above.
Oh, I know perfectly well what's "supposed to" happen. I also know perfectly well that these judges do not practice what they preach during confirmation hearings (and yes, that includes Ginsburg).
I hope Kavanaugh goes so full right wing that it destroys the GOP. Getting rid of abortion is actually very unpopular electorally. The GOP likes to run on it but they know if abortion were given back to the states, a lot of laws would automatically go into force that will make it completely illegal in red states. Then the red states will have to figure out what they are going to do with all these poverty stricken mothers and babies. I think getting a really restrictive right wing court for two years, as terrible as it would be in the short term, could expose the GOP for what they are. Then, I would like to see it shown whether Trump ever paid for an abortion himself, because my guess is yes.
So why even convene a hearing, don’t even have a vote and let the presidents nominee be seated. A Supreme Court Justice is a powerful figure appointed for life yet you don’t want to know anything about his opinions and background. He will be approved by the senate but the American people at least deserve to know what they are getting when these GOP senators vote his approval.
Don’t blame Brett Kavanaugh when he demurs at his confirmation hearing from answering questions on legal issues that might come before the Supreme Court. It’s the senators who will be in the wrong, for demanding commitments that no judicious nominee could provide. To answer “direct questions on stare decisis on many other matters, including Roe and health care”—as Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has called for—would itself be disqualifying.
That principle has come to be called the Ginsburg Standard, after Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. As she explained in the opening statement of her 1993 confirmation hearing: “A judge sworn to decide impartially can offer no forecasts, no hints, for that would show not only disregard for the specifics of the particular case—it would display disdain for the entire judicial process.” Or, as she later responded to a question about constitutional protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation: “No hints, no forecasts, no previews.”

Just watched the details on a hearing where he presided regarding an abortion for an unaccompanied minor in Texas, there is no doubt of his intentions regarding abortion. He was overruled by the appeals court last year, his appeal among women is a large negative.
So much for his following law not to create undue hardship for abortions.

Can't. The White House is withholding about 100,000 pages of it.
They've already produced more documents than any other judicial confirmation requests ever received, dems requested over a million documents because they want to 1) *****, moan and cry about not getting everything they asked for and 2) they wanted to use that mountain of documents to slow down the hearing process and delay the confirmation. The White House gave them more than enough, they're going to vote against him no matter what so it doesn't matter.
