Not really. If we’ve learned anything over the past two years, it’s that Trump has no central political philosophy. He’s an egotistical seat-of-the-pants provocateur, period. As long as things are in turmoil, he’s satisfied. And I’m beginning to think it’s dawning on the media that he's good for their business, too. Angry readers/viewers are their bread and butter. Trump has kept a LOT of people angry.

Heck, even the Canadians are angry.

It's not looking so good for Justin these days - where do you think his Leverage against the USA is?
Canada's Economy is mostly based on 2 Industries - OIL & Auto Manufacturing.

Federal Court of Appeal decision has serious consequences for Canada |The Province - August 30, 2018

In a stunning court decision Thursday, the Federal Court of Appeal quashed the Trudeau government’s approval of the Trans Mountain expansion project, citing inadequate consultation with First Nations and concerns over marine tanker traffic. This decision nullifies the previous approval of the project and portends serious consequences for Canada.

The court’s decision sends the project back to the National Energy Board for further environmental assessment and Ottawa must now redo part of its consultations with Indigenous groups, causing further delays and higher costs to a project that already faced significant setbacks.

Trudeau bought the TransCanada Pipeline (transit oil to China) from Kinder Morgan when they announced they were pulling out because of the "regulations/delays" - Canada Nationalized the Pipeline and paid $4.5 BILLION for it. Now it's shut down. PANIC!! in Canada Markets & Press

Trudeau says he'll fight for Canada's interests after Trump comments he won't compromise on NAFTA |CBC - August 31, 2018
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says his government will defend Canada's best interests in any new NAFTA deal, after a report that Donald Trump told a news outlet the United States will make no compromises in any agreement with Canada.

Trudeau said Canada will continue on a positive path forward in NAFTA talks.

"We're going to remain constructive, positive, serious and creative about what we do around the negotiating table, in what we do in relation with the United States," he said in Oshawa, Ont. "But we are also going to be unequivocal about always standing up for Canadians' rights and Canadians' interests."

That all sound so Unicorn World - BUT does it have any relation to Reality? 3 parties involved and 2 out of the 3 have reached an Agreement - the 3rd Country refuses to budge on anything and has ZERO leverage to move the other 2 Countries to Canada's side. I'm not sure what Trudeau/Freeland think they can gain by pretending that everything is going just fine and they are "optimistic".

It's NOT fine and they have no reason at all to be "optimistic". Canada made serious errors from the very beginning - they approached NAFTA from a purely Political aspect - the United States and Mexico approach was JOBS and Economy.

The reality is that the recent agreement with Mexico is nearly identical to the original NAFTA - Trump figured out that he could not wholesale change it, that was simply a fantasy. So he was left with making a few tweaks, which of course he can now advertise as being fantastic and new and HIS.

The other thing that people don't mention is that the agreements he wants from Canada are nearly identical to the Trans-Pacific Partnership that Trump killed. We all know he killed the TPP because it was Obama's idea and of course that meant it was bad, right? So now he proposes nearly the same terms to Canada and he can claim it as his own.

Yet somehow his supporters don't seem to be following any of this. Why is that?

Well you all seem to think it is doom and gloom for Canada but y'all thought Trump should win the pulitzer prize for his big visit with Kim Jung Un.

Hmmmm -- I'll take a wait and see attitude, the track record of those claiming success for Trump isn't so good thee days -- lol.

I think there was a lot of laughing behind his back. No wonder our “allies” loved him so much.
