I suspect a LOT of the RWNJ posters her did not remain in school long enough to HAVE civics class. Trump loves the poorly educated - and a lot of them end up right here on this board supporting all the stupid/immoral/illegal stuff he does.

Well, I don't know about that, Ken. That could be part of the problem, but it also could be that some who are posting on this forum took civics in another country and are unaware of how things are set up in the U.S.

Attorney General has always been the top law enforcement officer of the nation.

It's why Nixon ordered Attorney General Elliot Richardson to fire Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox instead of firing him himself.

Richardson resigned rather than fire Cox.

Nixon ordered Deputy Attorney Ruckelshaus to fire Cox. Ruckelshaus refused, and resigned.

Nixon then ordered the third-most-senior official at the Justice Department, Solicitor General Robert Bork to fire him and Bork did. In his memoirs, Bork said that Nixon promised him the next open seat on the SCOTUS for firing Cox.

Bork then appointed a new Special Prosecutor, Leon Jaworski, and the investigation continued.

If the POTUS was actually the chief law enforcement official, Nixon would have fired Cox himself and refused to appoint a new Special Prosecutor.

True enough - or they are foreigners well aware of our laws but are just online here to cause trouble and stir up discontent.

But of course that NEVER happens - right?
As I said in another post, a lot of the RWNJ Trump supporters seem to think that the President is a KING. They likely think that because the don't believe in Democracy. Not a surprise really.

This is why Mueller can't finish up and get this investiagation over with. More crimes are continuously being uncovered and supporting evidence on old allegations presented.

Evidence of what, though? Nothing of any significance.

Sadly we're dealing with a whole lot of people "not in their right minds" as they put party first, middle and last over independent thought.

There's now plenty of evidence that something (possibly) illegal, certainly wrong went on inside the FBI and the DNC/Hillary campaign when it comes to the Russian/Trump issue...

No one is asking to see citizenship papers here but maybe someone should. Taking a civics class is one thing. Getting a passing grade is another. The Dems here may have took the class but did they pass it ?
It appears many didn't.

Therefore Reagan had the right idea when he said : (paraphrase ) Its not that Dems know so little but so much of what they know that isn't so.

The president is the chief executive of the federal government, and the Constitution vests all executive power in him. Everyone else who works in the executive branch is a subordinate, delegated to exercise the president’s power at the president’s pleasure. The sole exception is the vice president.

The president is the superior of the attorney general, who in turn is the superior of the FBI director — the FBI is a component of the Justice Department.

There was not even a Department of Justice for nearly the first century of constitutional governance, and the FBI did not exist until 1935 (succeeding the Justice Department’s Bureau of Investigation, which had been created in 1908). In theory, the president could carry out federal law-enforcement functions without an FBI director.

Now that its clear where the power is the next lesson is :

Mueller's investigation is OVER. Mueller blew it up with Weissmann as Bruce Ohr named him as a source receiving dossier

It doesn't mean that Mueller won't thrash around like a headless chicken for awhile. The table is set and dinner will be served and maybe justice too.
