Obama was/is responsible for any success and not responsible for any down turn in the economy; Democrat Logic.

What downturns? The 2007 crash? That logic does not seem to hold.

My business is better this year than it was last year, but it has nothing to do with who is or was President.

There wasn't a downturn in the economy during the Obama years, so there's nothing to blame on him. He turned a recession into a solid economy. There also hasn't been a downturn in the year after his last fiscal year has ended, so I really don't see how any downturn in the future could be blamed on him, either.

Trump inherited a great economy and it's still doing great. I'm glad he hasn't managed to tank it. So for that I will give him credit. If it crashes in the next 2.5 years, then yep, he will need to take the blame for it.

Democrats retaking congress in 2006 was the cause of the Great Recession as was Obama (even though he wasn't President yet) and Trump is 100% responsible for the recovery. The six years of GDP growth, job growth, and the tripling of the stock market during the Obama years is "fake news." Republican logic.

I would like to know the Democrat policies that help businesses.

We know about the mortgage crisis - so take out anything pre-12000 on the Dow. Anything before that was just getting back to where we were. That gives Obama around a 6000 point Dow increase in approximately 6 years.

FYI - Here's a Washingtn Post article from Sep 2017

Democrats can't win until they recognize how bad Obama's financial policies were

...the past eight years of policymaking have damaged Democrats at all levels. Recovering Democratic strength will require the party’s leaders to come to terms with what it has become — and the role Obama played in bringing it to this point.

...
In January 2009, Obama had overwhelming Democratic majorities in Congress, $350 billion of no-strings-attached bailout money and enormous legal latitude. What did he do to reshape a country on its back?

First, he saved the financial system. ... Rather than forcing some burden-sharing between banks and homeowners through bankruptcy reform or debt relief, Obama prioritized creditor rights, placing most of the burden on borrowers.

...
Second, Obama’s administration let big-bank executives off the hook for their roles in the crisis.

...
Third, Obama enabled and encouraged roughly 9 million foreclosures.

If you look at the title of that article - and watch people try to give Obama credit for what's happening in the economy - it shows that they don't get it, and they will continue to lose.

Policies that strengthen the middle class are the best for a sustainable economy and in theory, the Democrats favor that. Trickle down doesn't work and will never work no matter how many times it's tried. An economy where the all of the wealth expansion happens at the very top will never look anything like that 1950s and 1960s economy that people look back so fondly on.

I'm looking for real legislation or regulations... not rhetoric.

Trump has real legislation and regulations (or de-regulations) and policies where he is holding other countries responsible for ripping us off. Those are tangible actions that have taken place that has helped the economy.

You tell us what won't work but you have no ideas worth mentioning that will work or you would be talking about it. Just like the Dem. party. NO IDEAS

The theory died.
You are living in the past with the idea Dems are for the middle class. Socialism doesn't work either.
Its been tried plenty and killed plenty of people too.
