The liberal-biased media's belief that McCain is America's Hero and the Second Coming has nothing to do with John McCain.
They hated him when he ran for president in 2008 and haven't changed their views.
This entire overblown presentation and phony admiration is all about their hated of President Trump. If Trump were not President, McCain would have received the same brief televised coverage as any other politician. But since McCain did not like President Trump the lib media is having a field day attempting to convince everyone that democrats will save America. . . this is their big act leading up to the midterms and 2020.

Then how do you explain FoxNews giving as much coverage as the "liberal media"?

Just because you apparently have hate in your heart doesn't mean everyone else does.
YOU don't speak for me or any other liberal that I know
You all want to remember him - go to the nearest church and say a prayer. I believe in lowering the flag in respect - but all these stations carrying the funeral is ridiculous - let them take the highest bid and donate it to Cancer research if televising it means so much to so many people.
Funny that they all spend money on production costs to televise it and it does nothing to promote treatment or research cures for cancer which would be a better memorial for McCain.
The very carefully chosen music at the funeral - music I hadn't heard or sung in years - sent a powerful and aspirational message to the entire country - that of patriotism, love of country, and love of God.
It was definitely McCain's intent to remind us again of what we are, what we aspire to be, of our better selves.
A very well-spent three hours. I needed that. The country needed it. Would that we will heed.
A final thought which has particularly stayed with me - paraphrased from McCain's favorite Hemingway novel -
Quote:
Today is only one day in all the days that will ever be. But what will happen in all the other days that will ever come can depend on what you do today.
Same anti-funeral snowflakes would be glued to the TV for Trump's funeral.
Speaking of Trump's funeral....all presidents pre-plan their funerals down to the details. And because you never know when it'll be your time, they have this plan in place even while still president.
Today Trump probably contacted the person which documents his funeral wishes and said "I want a funeral bigger and longer than John McCain's. I want the biggest and best funeral of any president ever. Believe me, it's gonna be big."
Although in true Trump fashion, he'll probably require the funeral events to be held inside one of his private clubs and charge exhorbitant per-person fees for each attendee. And then massive fees for the each section of the facility. And require Trump employees to setup and break down the chairs and flower displays, all for huge fees paid to the Trump organization. He'll probably charge a $2 million "last minute" facility fee for the facility to have the event on short notice.

They televised the funeral because Franklin and McCain had many people around the world that admired them. They felt the need to give them a final send off that people will remember. No problem with that. They both knew their last days were numbered so they probably requested it. Yes, people in attendance turned them into political rhetoric but they do that with award shows and other televised events as well.
I enjoyed both funerals for different reasons. I enjoyed Franklin's funeral since I was born and raised in Detroit. I'm a Baptist and a Democrat. I enjoyed the artists that gave amazing performances. I also enjoy the words of the pastors in attendance since that is the form of service and sermon I've grown up with in Detroit as a baptist. I love her music and the contributions she made to Detroit throughout her life.
I enjoyed McCain's funeral as well. The hymns were beautiful and peaceful. As a veteran, I respect the formal service funeral. It was a soft and innocent celebration for the world to send a sailor home. I'm in awe of McCain's service to this country for so many years. He is a good example of a veteran to all people that serve honorably.
They do parade the coffin around in relation to ceremonial and state funerals.
Winston Churchill was the last person to be given a full state funeral in the UK, his coffin lay in state before his coffin was placed on a Royal Navy Gun Carriage and pulled through the streets of London by sailors of the Royal Navy to St Paul's Cathedral for a full service. Afterwards it was placed on a barge and taken down the Thames.
McCain's funeral was a well thought out service, some good speeches and I liked the music which included 'Danny Boy' and Gustav Holt's 'I vow to thee my country'.
State Funeral of Winston Churchill with 'I vow to thee my country'.
Winston Churchill was a world leader to led Britain through WW2 and refused to surrender to Hitler. John McCain was just a senator from Arizona one of the least important states of the union.
