I truly believe this is why Trump supporters are willing to overlook all his faults. He is delivering SCOTUS justices that will make it possible for the Christian Right to turn back the clock on LGBT and abortion rights. This is the end game of something they've been trying to do since the 1980s. They have it within reach and aren't going to let that go over anything that Trump has thus far been accused of, even if it were true and even if they wouldn't tolerate it from any other politician. When you get down to it, they are willing to risk severely damaging the integrity of our democracy, our long-term economic prospects, and standing on the world stage just to have these conservative SCOTUS judges who will take rights away from gay people and women and give the evangelicals legal superiority.

So do you support reversing Roe v Wade/Obergefell v Hodges at ANY cost and does that play into why you still support Trump?

Trump supporter here and NO to your questions, I do not support reversing those.

Furthermore, although President Trump is anti-abortion, he considers abortion and gay marriage to be "settled law". Trump is not an evangelical conservative. I believe your premise is flawed.

I continue to support President Trump and I have zero interest in reversing either decision. Don't you ever get tired of being wrong?

Why would you oppose overturning these obviously defective rulings?

Restoring the SCOTUS to its proper role and function is what's most important. If that means reversing every decision that was arrived at through judicial activism, then so be it. That's what has got to happen.

Remember, we're talking about religious fanatics here. This is their Jihad.

If you believed that you were getting 70 virgins... I mean saving the lives of babies... and fulfilling the will of Allah... I mean God... you'd be willing to overlook some serious flaws in your Anointed Orange Prophet.

This sums up the Trump supporter mindset here. These are the same people who called for Bill Clinton's head because of a blowjob and spent the 90s saying "character counts". They are willing to overlook Trump's faults because he's giving them conservative SCOTUS justices, something necessary for them to achieve their dream of a "restored Christian America."

And yet you have had two people answer your question, telling you that we are not interested in overturning those rulings.

Why ask the question if you won't believe the answers?

I voted for Trump.

I would not make abortion illegal.

I think abortion is horrible, baby-murder.

I would not make guns illegal.

Democrats think guns are horrible, sentient, death machines.

----------

I want laws to be a fair 2-way street because, even though we each think what the other party wants is horrible, there may exist extenuating circumstances that require these things be legal.

Someone breaks into your home? Shoot him. A baby will cause organ failure for the mom? Abortion.

I can't claim to be fair and want a particular kind of freedom extended for myself, that I may not extend to others...? I mean that's kind of how we're supposed to get along, right?

Granted, the 2nd Ammendment very clearly spells out people's right to arms. However, the 9th Ammendment is correctly used in Roe V. Wade. So if I can have my 2nd, you can, and should have your 9th.

The problems come into play when the people who want their 9th say we shouldn't have our 2nd...
We can cause problems too by saying we should have our 2nd, but, they shouldn't have their 9th...

Is my concept of a 2-way street making sense here?

It seems like you're really stuck in the 90s , or think most Americans are. Most Americans could care less about personal foibles like sexual infidelity; everyone in the country knew Marilyn Monroe , who was kind of like Americas version of a porn star at the time , closest thing to one anyway since porn star wasn't a thing, was bonking the President but that didn't stop them from all that Camelot worship nonsense.

This isn't any different. Kennedy gave the people what they wanted, I suppose, in a way...a youth and optimism that matched their own.

I support overturning both rulings. What I would like better than overturning the rulings is for our state governments to ignore or nullify them. The rulings were always unconstitutional and allowing that same court to decide to overturn them legitimizes the power they illegally grabbed. I say nullify the rulings and see if the feds are dumb enough to attempt to use force to enforce them.
