Otherwise they do have a legitimate point.

Making it worse listen to the rap music lyrics where they sing about disrespecting and treating women bad. There are assaults on women in movies, in pornography, even in games. Yet the left held up a stripper as a hero. If the left really wants to do something about assaults on women maybe they (and we) should protest the constant portrayal of it.

If you wonder why women are so mad, read about some of our thoughts and actions taken daily for our safety below. We always have to be aware where men don't typically think about it like we have to.

Men do the things on the right side of the chart, too. Some of us have been physically attacked. So no, there's no 'men don't typically think about it like we have to' - particularly those of us who live or work in large cities.

I can agree with this, my post was not to say men don't have to be cautious.

Again... my post was to say that I can understand why women are angry, we are at a higher risk but I don't want to see a man convicted on accusation and/or for political reasons. Of course the right is against sexual assault. They do have wives, daughters and sisters you know and no one wants to see men or women assaulted. To say otherwise is ridiculous.

As I said before the music lyrics that sing about mistreating women as if it's acceptable, women being assaulted in movies, porn, you would think you'd want to fight against the constant depiction of women being assaulted. Now that, I can get behind. Obviously the media would have to get behind it too or it will continue to be ignored.

You shouldn't have to put that disclaimer in...(and I was being dramatic -- I did read -- and yes you say what most women say).

For the record I don't call myself liberal or conservative. I have very conservative political views on fiscal, economic matters, and more liberal on social matters. But I don't identify with one or the other.
I will not convict anyone based on an accusation as was done in this situation period, I don't care what side of the isle your on.

heck i say take all the precautions you want. load up on knives, mace, pepper spray, sharp needles that can be hidden yet are accessible easily, carry a gun if you like, hire a body guard, have your significant other pick you up from work. do what ever it takes to keep yourself safe.

i would rather a woman come home safe and sound and not need to use all the safety items she wants to carry, rather than she get hurt in anyway because she didnt have what she needed to protect herself.

On the sexual flip side, If a woman wants a consensual sexual encounter 95%+ chance all she has to do is go out and sit on her butt no matter even if she's old and monsterous looking. Whereas an average male only has about a 5% chance. Plus males are physically assaulted or attacked more often than females.

I don't agree that men don't think about this. My own son avoids certain places and situations. Woman fear more because we are generally weaker which makes us an easier target. Same with kids. It's not something society can necessarily fix either because bad people will always exist and we don't always know who they are until it's too late.

i agree, i think about safety all the time. what would i do if certain situations come up? what can i use as a weapon if i need one? and if i do need one, where is the best place to hit my opponent to create maximum effect?

also i think where are the building exits. where is everyone located? what happens if i have multiple attackers? who do i defend against first? can i talk my way out of the situation? can i joke my way out? what can i use as cover? what obstacles can i put up to slow my attackers down? do i have allies that can help?

these are all things we ALL need to consider all the time.

Men are assaulted too. Both men and women have to be careful.

But women are the ones who get attacked sexually. I was reading today an article by a woman who stated how lucky she had been that the men she encountered at parties and on dates were nice. When things could have gotten rough, the men politely backed off.

There are a lot of very nice, well mannered men out there but there are also a great number of men who need to learn respect. Just because a woman says no after enjoying kissing and making out, doesn't mean she's a "tease." Just because she wears a pretty dress doesn't mean she's "asking for it." There are SOME men to definitely need to be schooled on how to treat other people. Women are people.

Although I'm mostly Democrat, it's neither a Dem or Repub issue and we need to have a lot more discussion nationwide of these men/women issues so that we call all learn treat each other better.

You’re joking right. Women have been silent for decades about men assaulting them. And now you are worried about men. Did you ever worry about women. No of course not.
