How does selective service view men that call themselves women? Do they have to sign up?

NO ONE should have to sign up. Conscription is slavery.

Agreed but it is current law so my question stands.

I would think just calling yourself a female wouldn't apply and if you have the bait & tackle you have to register. If not, anyone could claim that and negate the whole thing. I guess they assume if they go through a sex change operation they are serious about it and exempt at that point.

Well they can't have it both ways. If the military wants to ban transgender individuals from serving then they can't draft them when in need either. If someone just wanted to avoid the draft there would be much easier ways then to fake being transgender.
If there was ever a need for the draft, the pool of qualified would be greatly reduced as compared during the Vietnam era. Between obesity, prescription anxiety/ depression drug use, and illegal drug use we could be in some trouble.

We are in 2018 -- men and women should have to register for the draft....or have no draft registration at all.

If we are going to have a draft the law needs to be amended to not specify gender. Period. Women are now allowed to serve in combat positions, which eliminates the previous justification for the exemption of women from the draft.

Equality means everything is equal, the bad along with the good.

That's the biggest deflection, ever.

What it means, is Good question. I don't know.

LOL good point. Although highly unlikely, if a draft were to be imposed soon, I could see lots of men transitioning into women. They same sort of men that ran to Canada during previous drafts.

I say give them a pass. Morally wrong that they avoid the services but it probably is better overall.
