I feel badly that Mr. Lewis had to undergo such humiliation from some nosy idiot 'detective.' He'll continue to be a positive role model not only to the kids he babysits, but also the other youth he mentors.
A black babysitter says a woman called the police on him while two white children were in his care.
On Sunday, while babysitting for the 10-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son of his friends Dana Mango and David Parker, Corey Lewis of Marietta, Ga., treated the kids to lunch at a Subway inside Walmart. Afterward, the 27-year-old, who runs the youth mentoring program Inspired by Lewis, was standing with the kids outside his car while the boy finished eating when he noticed a white woman sitting in her car, staring.
I have no problem with a black babysitter for white kids but I don't like the idea of a male babysitter.
?????
I'm a woman and I don't get this attitude.
In fact, there are 2 non-family people I'd trust my kids with (and by family, I just mean my parents - would not let my inlaws or brother sit them): one is 30-something woman who is a teacher (our regular sitter) and the other is a 24 year old male grad student.
He has housesat for us and babysits for a number of my colleagues. Very responsible guy. Loves kids and dogs. Nothing but positive experiences.
So we're suppose to "save the children" and save females except when playing it safe and the person reported is black.
I guess it's only PC when playing it safe is to report on white people.
The media has a new propaganda campaign now, to create the perception that the great white masses are all just a bunch of racists. Notice what the media reports and doesn't report.
Male babysitters are fine. It depends on the individual but that could be said whether we're talking about males or females.
Gladys Kravitz just had to follow him home to see what was going on because she didn't want to miss out on a big bust that she was the catalyst for.
And how many times did the cop have to ask the kids if they were okay? Twice wasn't enough?
