Following the 2018 hurricane, and response and events that followed, would you support statehood for Puerto Rico.

I think it's time, based on principles, despite a likely increase in smuggling and refugees in PR.

The majority of (voting) Puerto Ricans support statehood, and at 3 million population it's larger than 21 states.

They are US citizens with limited rights. Don't keep them second class. It's not right.
If your view is based on poverty or being a drain on the US - then I have a list of US states that should be kicked out.

I think that’s what we all want. But they have to be prepared to function in their every day lives in English and live up to American standards.

OTHER: I'd support letting the people of Puerto Rico decide by referendum.

In 2017 they voted 97% in favor of statehood.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stateh...in_Puerto_Rico

In 2002:

Should Puerto Rico continue its current territorial status?
Yes 46.0%
No 54.0%

Which non-territorial option do you prefer?
Statehood 61.2%
Free Association 33.3%
Independence 5.5%
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puerto...ferendum,_2012

If there was a binary vote (not 3 or 4 choices as above) then I expect statehood would win - and especially after the federal response to the hurricane I expect it would win on a 3 or 4 way choice.
