President of the United States Donald Trump intervenes in a court decision that benefits him politically and financially. Wow, who could have seen this coming?

Unfortunately the corrupt, amoral and unethical behavior of this president does not shock us or seem extraordinary any longer. That is the tragedy!

There is no excuse for this self serving tyrant. These are dark days for America. And indeed disappointing and sad.

if a lawyer ignores this rule the right to client/attorney privilege is voided.

The way they're using "conduct" here is for all future activities. All past conduct is privileged.

No. Past conduct where an attorney assisted in the commission of a crime is not protected by privilege.

When an Attorney is considered as a "Fixer"... yes, they have lots of information, and its no different than mobster's turning to witness against mob bosses.

Nobody cares about the word, "rat"... when they are facing 25 yrs...

If I was Cohen, I'd show Mueller everything, and even show him stuff he may not even know was part of the mix, especially because Trump is such a snake, and then because he has denigrated Cohen in the ways he have, and lied to the ENTIRE American public.

Cohen should by all rights, Bury Trump by the Truth that expose the malice, greed, and corruptions and lies that Trump has lived his entire life by and through.

Cohen speaking and presenting the truth, shows the kids of America, that no matter how high ones climbs up, that "evilness and greed" will not be a crown and it will not bring glory.... Cohen can do good justice to the young in the world, by the exposure of "everything" !!!!

Now Cohen can show telling the truth!!! that's what is patriotism!!! to the "Integrity of America and the Dignity of the American People to expose a career criminal of many sorts occupying our Presidential Office.

This is getting tiresome and essentially comes down to if a)Cohen committed (knowingly a crime) b)and several other nuances which are above your paygrade. The key that is not changing is Cohen is a rat, and a terrible person.

correct, but the claim by cohen is that he was a participant in an ongoing fraud. that would not be covered by client attorney privilege, nor would any work outside his capacity as a lawyer be covered, this includes work as a "fixer".

we just had a court appointed "clean team" go thru thousands of of cohen's phone recordings and emails to separate out what was covered by client/attorney. only a handful came back meeting the criteria for client/attorney.

Well yea, Trump hired him - that is a given. Trump only hires the best rats and the very most terrible people.

If Cohen's client committed a crime and Cohen advised the client or assisted in any way, attorney-client privilege does not attach. Trust me, this is not above my paygrade.

Cohen is a rat and a terrible person, but he is not a terrible person for ratting out another criminal.

Even if Trump+Cohen knowingly committed a crime in coordination, he is a terrible person. As Trump's personal advocate, he should have recused himself, advised him a better legal alternate, or at the least not ratted on him when caught with your pants down. Yes, he is a terrible person and a rat for precisely this reason.
