I was sitting in my LR one day when the mail carrier came upon my porch. Went out as he walked off and got my mail. My wife asked if her package had come, I said no. A few minutes later she got notice it had been delivered. PO insisted the carrier had left it at our house. They would do nothing. Same carrier had left two packages that belonged to my neighbor on my porch. Amazon replaced it but both of us have our house number in 12" high numbers on our porch. He either stole the package or left it elsewhere.
We constantly get mail for a neighbor with our house number but a different street address. However, this rarely happens with FedEx, UPS, or Amazon prime delivery service.
Neighbors decided to upgrade their security system. The box with the cameras and so forth was stolen right off their front porch. Fortunately their old security cam was sufficient to identify the thief.
Numerous threads on this topic. Have you considered getting a "ring" brand doorbell? Maybe a locked drop box on your porch (if you have one?).
Best of luck.
I have a heavy cabinet bolted to the wall on my front porch, with a hasp and lock. I put up a note on the door for the delivery people to put the package inside, lock it and very important, to remove the note, so as not to give any clues that something valuable might be inside.
If you live in Suffolk County Massachusetts (Boston area) -- it's perfectly OK to steal packages or anything else according to the new District Attorney who takes office on Jan 2.
Theft is fine, shoplifting is fine, walking restaurant tickets is fine ... as long as it's less than $250.
She won't prosecute.
Liberalism is a mental disorder.... Michael Savage
Blue states I am sure this liberal DA sees the thieves as disadvantaged people. I am sure these poor individuals are down on their luck because of being kept down by “the man”, white people or the patriarchy. It is not their fault they are in the situation they are so they are entitled to your package. After all if they cannot steal how will they get their drugs?
Having read OP's posts on this forum, I am sure she would vote for such a DA -- never realizing the relationship between her votes and the fact that her packages are getting stolen.
Stupid people deserve what happens to them and victims of package thieves are no exception.
