THis is looking like the Kavanguh situation all over again....Dems cried and cried for an "investigation"...GOP gave them the brief investigation, and Kavanaugh was later confirmed.
THis time around...Dems cried and cried about the "shut down"...the Pres/GOP "open it" back up (temporarily) , the GOP is doing that. now...let's wait and see if they get what they want at the end like they did with Kavanaugh.

Um, several people right here on c-d think Trump gave in because of the SOTU.
I don't doubt that it was a factor, but in IMO, the main reasons are the dangers of Republican dissension in Congress, and Trump's popularity drop. Those reasons will persist long after the SOTU has been delivered.
Not so fast. There's no caving here. The Democrats are being put on the spot here. The president has offered everything he can on the table, but Pelosi keeps rejecting. Right now, the spotlight is on the Democrat Party and "Crumbs" Pelosi.
Yep. I think Trump played the democrats like a fiddle, lol! Think about it, if the left doesn't negotiate and Trump invokes the Emergency order, everything he offered is off the table and he gets at least $7 billion for the wall. No DACA relief, no amnesty, no nothing. Pelosi and Schumer are idiots.
I would suggest that finding out what Trump is hiding is acceptable.
It's private information, just because he is President is no reason to make it public. He's been audited numerous times and there is no indication he has done anything illegal. It would only be a political stunt.
I'll tell you what, when Pelosi and the rest of them asking for this release their returns then I'll agree.
