I don't think this anything different than what most people have been saying all along.

Yeah, it is. If the Democrats were for walls and physical barriers on the southern border, we wouldn't be on week five of a partial government shutdown.

Okay, well you just haven't been paying attention then.

If Trump wasn’t a Prima Donna idiot, we wouldn’t have a shut-down over a stupid wall.

Most Dems have never been against physical barriers. A Trump "wall" however, is not the answer. It has to be a combination of technology, increased personnel, etc.

Why not open the government first and then continue negotiations on border security?

"Because that would kick the can down the road..." So it is far better than paying our hardworking government employees their earned pay? So this is better than the economic impact from contractors and the unpaid essential employees and the furloughed employees?

No, Dems have reneged on talking before. Talking first will present opportunities to compromise, where neither side gets all it wants. Work to a resolution which includes passing a CR upon coming up wih a resolution to all issues of all parties involved.

Actually I have been paying attention for 30+ years and I'm well aware that the Democrats ALWAYS renege when it comes to border security. Trump isn't getting played like other Republican presidents who stupidly trusted the Democrats to act in good faith.

And we know how Trump changes his mind. Dems and Reps had a bill to keep the government open that Trump was going to sign. He walked away. I don't trust him as far I could throw him.

Republicans have done a pretty good job of reneging themselves. Even recently.
