Use the saving, duh! If no savings, what kind of responsible people are they? Go ask their parents for a loan.

Just how dense are you, mate?
Don’t they have savings? How dense are you? They will be paid back.

Please explain how your inability or unwillingness to plan and save is a concern for anybody but you and your family?

Do you really think everyone is capable of this? Most people live paycheck to paycheck. We do now because of husband's unemployment for a year. He finally found a job, that doesn't pay nearly what he used to. We have cut back on everything and can barely save right now. There is no one we can ask for a loan.

In addition, many of these people are working. Are you suggesting they work for free? Never get back pay?

Typed while quietly weeping for our selfless ruling class.
maybe you grew up in a different culture or generation, but when I was a kid the most respectable careers are mostly in federal sectors (law enforcement, astronaut, firemen, soldier/marine).

I guess that's why kids prefer to dress up as policeman/astronaut/fireman/soldier/marine, not in a business costume pretending to be a greedy corporate employee working for wall street.

Who are you Trump or Jr? The government employees are very responsible people. What's your beef? This was not their war. They are not on strike, their major boss the commander in chief sat on his brain and kicked the can down the road.

Some are older adults that parents are probably on fixed incomes or not here. How old are you? Some mature adults don't run to their parents like Donald did. This is an American crisis, no one to blame but the so called president and his stubbornness.

But. there needs to be a mediator to get this show back on the road again.

And yes, they need their back pay....................not their fight.

please explain why is it illegal for private sectors to "hey, I want you to work for me, but we will pay you in the future at an uncertain/unknown time"

but it's totally legal for federal government to do that to their employees?

What kind of explanation is this?

Their back pay for not doing their job? Nice!
