Raised Kim's status to what? Everyone in the world already knew who Kim was and how dangerous he can be. Except now with Trump's wonderful work, he is on friendlier terms, open to dialogue and no longer an imminent threat.
Except when he's building long range missile launch sites.

I wouldn't be surprised. Before Kim is done with trump, trump will claim a win when Kim agrees not to fire off a missile if trump removes all sanctions and holds further launches as long as the US pays North Korea.
