Mixed? Do they have lot of people broke due to debt or mounting medical bills or student debt??

USA is near perfect, but I would also like to see reforms in those areas.

I'm not sure. Their country, and their problems to think about and deal with. We have our own issues to sort out. I don't think trying to become like Europe is a wise move, because we are not Europe. We are the USA, and we should focus on being the best USA we can be. I agree that drastic reductions in health care expenses are required, and that can be achieved via competition and free market capitalism. Not crony capitalism! And certainly not more layers of grossly expensive/inefficient government!

Same with education. Free market capitalism/competition, and eliminate the government's influence. Then watch the price go down for a change. Also, stop telling everyone they have to go to college! If you increase the demand without increasing the supply, of course it will become unaffordable. Basic economics, which I often wonder if they are teaching in school these days...

Who’s fault is that?

Abraham Lincoln frequently described slavery as "You work and toil and earn bread, and I'll eat it."

I dont see a collar around my neck.. I am free to do whatever I want, as they are in my neighboring countries.

All of my friends have Masters or PHDs, Doctors, Lawyers and a bunch of Engineers.

In all our countries:
If you chose not to work.. you starve.
If you can't work.. you get help.
And its a very rigourse vetting to see if you actually need help!

We are brought up in a system where we have a strong work ethic, everybody know they have to pull their own weight. But we will help each other if their health deteriorates or they lose their jobs.

We have a VERY organized and effective workforce, much more efficient compared to US workers, with a flat hierarchy where leaders listen to their workers!
My wife who works a lot with the British and Americans, says its like day and night.. Her US colleagues first dont belive how things are here.. then, wants to move here!

We have sense we can be whatever our interests or capabilities are, if you just work hard at it.

Only the best is accepted to Medical school.. but the education is free.
Only the best is accepted to Law school.. but the education is free.
Only the best is accepted for STEM.. but the education is free.

Work hard at school. Get good grades. Do what you want.

In return, we get the best suited and interested for each education.. and they start of their career mostly debt free, paying back into the system that gave them a "free education". They have no problem paying 35-45% in taxes in return for what we get out of it. ( Or, there are some on the Far Right fringes )

We don´t pay out of pocket for our childrens education.
We don´t pay out of pocket for our own education.
We don´t pay out of pocket for Healthcare.*
*We do pay a small copay for Doctors visits, $20 pr visit. Maxed out at $300 per year..everything over that is covered.
We do pay $250-350 pr month for Daycare
We do pay for Dentists.
We do pay for "plastic surgeries".

Of course you don’t pay for those. Your slaves pay for them.

This is the part that the left misses:

Quote:
Only the best is accepted to Medical school.. but the education is free.
Only the best is accepted to Law school.. but the education is free.
Only the best is accepted for STEM.. but the education is free.
Which flies right in the face of their "diversity hires". They think there's not enough "X" representing Y field now? Let them be like Europe then. You aren't going to get into STEM if you're not the best. You're not going to be a lawyer if you're not the best. Your gender, your race, your identity is not going to get you in the door because you think diversity isn't represented enough - none of that matters.

This was the same way in Germany - maybe still is, I haven't been back there since I lived there for a few years, but it was the same exact thing. You don't get to go further on if you're not the best. The left says, "free college, look at Europe, they do it!" without finishing that statement with "for those who are the best".

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong as I only observed it while there, didn't actually live it while there, but it appeared that by a pretty young age, you had already mapped out your future by how well you had done up to that point. So, those who didn't do well.....they were probably going to be sitting there at that construction site, not in school to be a doctor. And considering how many I saw on breaks at those construction sites downing a beer, well, it's no wonder that maybe they weren't the best.

Get used to it!

Socialism has killed more human beings in this last century than mosquitoes and like all
