Any case, who cares what North Korea, Iran, etc do, they're not being subsidized by US taxpayers. Israel is. The US needs to pressure Israel into adopting humane policies and allowing a viable Palestinian state or the USA needs to pull all US aide and even sanction Israel.

They are the most humane and moral govt in all of the Middle East. 100% of the Arabs in Israel can vote, hold office, and even be gay. These Arabs have an incredibly high standard of living. They even hold office in the Kinneset.
It's not so much that Democrats pride themselves on defending minorities against bigotry, it's that they defend the downtrodden - insisting that it is entirely society's fault, and the prejudice against them, that has led them to be poorer, less-educated, and so forth.
Jews bely that belief. Here we are, after millenia of persecution, attempted extermination, expulsions, etc., and still, against all odds, we have higher-than-average educations and, related to that, higher incomes. It reveals a truth that Democrats don't want to admit: that personal choices and values DO have something to do with success, and that you can't blame someone else entirely for problems.
Thus, many "lefties" are actually resentful of Jews. IOW, now DARE they succeed and demonstrate that it is not prejudice, and prejudice alone, that explains a group's lower level of success. That's why you see this Oppression Olympics going on and why the worst of the worst actually deny the Holocaust occurred.
