The problem here? I don't trust her. What you did before you decided to run for office is important. She can argue I was just doing my job.

As Luke said calling it your job don't make it right, Boss.

Well now that Harris wants and needs the support of that population, of course she does.
I wonder how many poor people Harris fined and locked up for MJ when she was a govt prosecutor?
Quote:
Harris is a former drug warrior who is now refashioning herself as pro-legalization. That's a positive shift—but not a reason to rewrite the past or ignore the patterns it reveals in her judgment. For years after the cultural tide had turned in support of criminal justice reforms, Harris continued to support lock-'em-up policies that disproportionately hurt minorities.

As California Attorney General, Harris opposed marijuana legalization as late as 2014, promoted civil asset forfeiture without a conviction as a way to fight drug rings, and sought to more aggressively police prescription drug use.

In her new book, Harris reveals that her drug warrior mentality hasn't changed; it's just that her emphasis has shifted. Now she's hoping to funnel even more funds to law enforcement to "cut off the supply of fentanyl from China," and to "reinstate the DEA's authority to go after the major pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors."

That's fine, I support the legalization of marijuana, but it's not an important issue. The important issues for Americans are healthcare, deficit/debt of the federal government, non-stop warfare perpetuated by their government, militarization of police, immigration reform.

This is a diversionary tactic by the establishment. Get you excited about crumbs. American people, don't let them do that.

Good but I doubt I would vote for her.

We saw this with Hillary. Watch her fund raising to get a better grasp on her actual positions.

It's exactly what MBS did in Saudi Arabia. He's culling all opposition, imprisoning businessman etc but at the same time giving women the right to drive and walk around without escorts.

In 2019 , not too controversial, many conservative states now have some kind of marijuana legalization .

But the article suggestions she might be wanting to legalize other drugs too

I’m 100% behind this always have been but even if it’s legal on a federal level, do the states have a right to keep it illegal?
