Hundreds of billions in annual deficits with China about to be solved... MAGA... Not one previous president has managed that feat or even come close...
Never going to happen. Nearly all industries depend on billions of tax money. The food and farm industries are a tiny example of the corporate Welfare.
Trump set aside 12 Billion to help the farmers and he is using it.
I don't see the problem. Promise made; promise kept. The funds represent a portion of the $12 billion relief package that President Donald Trump pledged in July to offset the losses from retaliatory tariffs imposed by Beijing in response to Washington's tariffs on Chinese goods.
Meh .... a 17,000 billion dollar economy paid 7.7 billion dollars.
Just doesn't peg my outrage meter.
Sorry, Dems.
Trump's approval is at 49% among registered voters, although it is at something less among the Americans who recently confronted Sen Feinstein, and Dems do not have a platform.
I'm happy.
If you consider the revenue brought in by American owned businesses in China, it just about wipes out the deficit according to Huang.
So if our trade balance isn't really that far off, why institute a trade war? Why not negotiate without collateral damage on both sides? After all Trump claims to be the best negotiator ever.
I agree that China needs to do better by us and stop stealing our technology and robbing our businesses, but I don't agree that a trade war is the best way to handle the situation. Yes we can bail out the farmers, but for how long if China imports all of their goods from other countries permanently? Wait a minute. Doesn't collecting social security, unemployment, welfare, and now welfare for farmers make us socialist?
Ok, first of all you can't just include revenues of American-owned businesses in China and declare that it balances the trade deficit without also including revenues of Chinese-owned businesses in America. Starwood Hotels, GE Appliances, Motorola Mobility, and AMC Entertainment are some of the many once-American businesses acquired by Chinese owners. When all is said and done, including foreign-based revenues might mean the trade deficit is even larger.
Second, you can't declare that a trade war is not the best way to handle the issues unless you can show evidence (not armchair theory) that a more effective way is available. We have been trying for 20 years to remedy these concerns. Political statements, inclusion in economic treaties, World Court lawsuits, sanctions, and other measures have proven ineffective.
