... see California ...

California’s middle class is in decline, despite the state’s immense wealth

Classic Republican response. Blame it on the the individual, so nothing gets done about it on a group level.

The stronger ones do stand up, but weaker ones get preyed on. Republican/libertarian utopia.

The middle class has never been represented at all before Trump came along and represented them on trade. You could add Burnie to that also since both had similar trade ideas.
I'm middle class and I been doing well for a long time now, before Obama and still today. I'm fortunate and thankful my industry is pretty solid.

Unpaid overtime is a scam. People work unpaid overtime because they are afraid that they will lose their jobs.

The Democrats should pass this so that they can show everyone who owns the republican party.
We already did under Obama. Republicans opposed it, just like they oppose EVERY legislation that actually gives workers the teeth to claim their higher wages.

This should be at the forefront of Dem's pro-worker platform.

while i sincerely agree that unpaid ot is a scam, this is not very specific. for example, on which planet is this supposed to happen?

its the same corporations that own the democratic party. thats sort of the larger problem in all this, which leads to all the scepticism about really fixing the one youre absolutely correct exists. that and a larger debate about how business and employment works, but i understand that the idea of legislating ot isnt something you made up and that weve done it before. i wouldnt call you a socialist for suggesting fair payment for services. unrealistic, but not a socialist. for what its worth, i think ot should be ot. for some reason i think it was bush jr that attacked this.

well, that, and to stop calling them "deplorables" just because they didnt vote for a party that claims to be the only one that truly represents them (and calls them nasty names if they disagree.) because if everyone stops taking the party seriously with good reason... theyll just have to go back to daddy, inc. for more campaign funding (with strings attached, and a boatload of double standards to try to negate the reality of this.)

focus, guys, focus. its not about demonising your-- well, it is when you get taken over by marxists. its always about demonising your voters then.

stick to workers rights, not making fun of the people who might decide to elect you.

Why are we suggesting politicians give us raises? Why not ask your employer?
Congress can adjust taxes and run it through the POTUS. But asking Congress to get you a raise is not realism, thats not how capitalism works.
And working overtime for nothing is unhealthy and not right, but it happens.

No one in this country is a slave. If you think you are, you are 100% wrong and need to get your life and mind straightened up. The government can't and won't do this for you. No matter what, weak individuals will be preyed upon if they refuse to learn how to stand up for themselves. And with democrats in charge, the only thing that happens is the strong are held down by the weaklings. That is not what America is about.

As far as doing things on "the group level", that what communism is about, and that will never work in America, so don't even think about it. This nation is all about building people up to be strong individuals, capable of caring for themselves and their nation.

I vote Republican and also agree with this... And if you think Democrats are for it, you are mistaken...
