California's districts were not drawn by the Democrats, they had an Independent redistricting process in 2010.....
Even more reason for the anti constitution nutters to hate her. Yawn. Don't care. The ONLY reason the election in Ga was closer last year WAS because Abrams a black female was the leftist candidate. If it had been a white man or woman it would have never been close. Same goes for 2016 for Hillary vs 2012 or 2008 for Obama. Blacks came out in more force BECAUSE a black man was on the ballot and it dropped some in 2016 because there wasn't a black woman or man on the ballot. Simple facts.

She ran pretty strong on that stance and fact of the matter is this is a primarily upper middle class-well educated suburban district that trended hard against Trump. Perhaps you could argue it had more to do with well educated suburbanites turning against Trump and the GOP than guns, but she didn't win a district that is 15% black because she is black.
