Clearly, pro-choice should win, since the basic trend of America has been to expand rights, and surely there is no more basic right than that of a woman being able to decide about her own body. Luckily for pro-life Christians, if they disapprove of abortions, no one will force them to have one.
Who should cede the abortion issue once and for all, and end this American discussion?
Roe vs. Wade is the law of the land, but pro-lifers and conservative Christians, etc. are antiabortion.

I think the heart beat bills will prevail in SCOTUS. Abortions will always be legal, but not very practical.
We forget that back during the heyday of illegal abortions, birth control was strictly regulated or not available at all. Women couldn't even buy birth control pills if they were under 21.
Women will be much more careful in the future than they were in the past.
Also, remember that abortions have never been illegal in the US. California and New York have always allowed abortions. It was illegal everywhere else, though.
compromise is the key to ending the debate on abortion.
Most americans support abortion on demand up to the end of the first trimester, but not after that.
the right demands no abortion at all and the left demands abortion up until the fetus passes through the birth canal. both positions are extreme and NOT popular with the majority of americans.

This is really just another abortion thread trying but not too hard to masquerade as something else. I've made my thoughts clear on my opinion on abortion. As far as ceding the discussion, that's what makes America great. We don't have to agree and no one has to cede any discussions. Let the debates continue.

There are many different and varied opinions on abortion as there are on all issues and not everyone fits into a clear category. I am a lifelong member of a conservative Southern Baptist church and yet am staunchly pro-choice. I would not want a woman to abprt a child that is mine and if my daughter was pregnant and asked for my advice, I would try to talk her out of it. But it should be the woman's decision to make.

Prolife has been trending up and prochoice has been trending down over the last 2 decades. According to most recent polls, right now it's 48%/48% split.
Furthermore, 75% of EVERYONE polled agrees restrictions are a must.
Get some facts. Proabortion view / abortion on demand / any time / any reason? Is waning.
Maybe pro-lifers should double down? Jail pregnant women who smoke or drink or don’t take folic acid?
