my birth state has been taken over by moonbats

at least they can still potentially weed them out with background checks. so what exactly does loopy lujan-grisham think she's accomplished besides making employers spend more money?

A law is taking effect in New Mexico on Friday that bars employers from being able to inquire about a prospective employee’s criminal history on his or her job application.

Under Senate Bill 96, which was signed off by Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham earlier this year, private employers are banned from being able to ask about applicants’ criminal history on their initial job applications.

Great idea, its about time!

Although in many states already, employers can only look back 7 or 10 years, if the person had no convictions during that time frame, they are permitted to answer NO to the criminal record question on applications.

There are exceptions, some employers go back to a persons 18th year, but those are security type jobs, banks, govt, childcare.

Anything that will get more people working in New Mexico is a good thing.

And NM is hardly alone:

"Nationwide, 35 states and over 150 cities and counties have adopted what is widely known as “ban the box” so that employers consider a job candidate’s qualifications first—without the stigma of a conviction or arrest record."

Think, OP. Do you want to pay taxes for welfare? No. Then you don't want to stand in the way of an able bodied person getting a job and supporting themselves right? No.

35 states and DC have Ban the Box Laws:

“ Moon bat” President Trump has been clear he intends for the Federal Government to hire convicted felons and intends to provide them with Lyft cards to interview for jobs.

He is also looking into housing subsidies for convicted felons.

Spend more money? They should be doing background checks regardless. What's your issue?

On the flipside, it means you could end up hiring a sexual or alleged sexual predator.

The real answer from their side which they never admit, because it's so abhorrent, is that once someone is an ex con, they should be segregated from society for life and either starve to death or kill themselves. That's the real answer.....

Ayup! Not all felons are created equal.

(Happens the same thing in the debates here on health insurance. (Tho we disagree on logistics, I believe we agree on universal health insurance) T310 has been the only one with the guts to say it outright. Tho I disagree with him on these things, he gets kudos for saying what many here think but will not admit.)
