That's no reason to remove all honesty from conversation. Was this guy not racist enough to mention Manson alongside of? Or since he actually killed someone Manson shouldn't be compared to him?

I see no reason why the Right can't raise money - they raise money for walls and for fake vets and for Trump charities that go for self-portraits hung in country clubs.
The Don and his friends could make a grand gesture and put 1 million plus into trust and use the income (50K per year) to pay back the costs of incarceration.
I'm not big on the death penalty myself. However - on a personal level - I'd want "death with dignity" to be available to anyone with a long term prison sentence. That is, if I were in a bad prison situation I'd probably want to end it eventually.....
