I realize that the left hates the orange man, and will vote for ANYONE that runs against him. But I have to wonder, does these policies about having US taxpayers bankroll healthcare for all illegal aliens who want to come here as well as taxpayers paying off all outstanding student loans...does that not give you on the left at least some pause? I mean, its got to, right?
I don't like it, but it beats fundamentalist Christian theocracy and having an incompetent fool with a bad temper in charge of the nuclear codes.
Plus, it's unlikely any of that will be accomplished anyways. Maybe the backlash against that proposal will give the DNC some pause. We'll see. Fact is, you are never going to like everything your party's platform endorses. You have to pick and choose what issues are most important. If I agree with Democrats on most issues but I don't care for things like reparations for slavery or open borders, I'm more likely to hold my nose and vote Democrat than vote for Trump who is polar opposite of me on the issues I care about.
He will win again because so far the ones running against him are minor league if not defective candidates. lol
So says the base. Unless Strom Thurmond should be raised from the dead and he ran as a Democrat, probably no candidate would be good enough for them.
However, his base is as energized as it ever has been and is concentrated in the states he needs to win. It's going to be a close election but Trump will most likely win.
Yes, the far left socialist stuff gives me pause but I am not too worried about it because those things would require Congress to enact them and I don't see that happening. It is easy for a candidate to say all kinds of things but harder to make them happen. I think Obamacare is highly likely to go through another iteration so it starts to look like Medicare for all, but whether it covers illegals is highly debatable. And even if it did, the cost of that is going to be far less than the cost of a war with Iran, which is highly likely if Trump remains in office. Basically, which is the worst outcome for America - Medicare for all, or a war with Iran? It is an easy choice for me.
Are you saying that if there's a Democrat president and Iran attacks us, we will do nothing?
if Trump wins, he gets the border wall finished, gets health care on the right track, the manufacturing base continues to creep back, he gets deals done with China, NK, the UK and a handful of other. Nato countries pay their fair share and we continue to strengthen the US military.
Majority Americans stand with Democrats on issues like climate change, opposition to war, healthcare, education and many other issues. It's really on the right-wing media that's dominated by millionaire talk show hosts who tell you the sky is green and poop smells like candy and then you have a millionaire President who is suppose to bring change that will benefit the common American? Since when did the upper economic elite care about the working class? They are the ones who sent our jobs overseas, who enjoy the cheaper labors of illegal immigration and who constantly sell America out for a nickel. They are suppose to bring change? Hey...I got a bridge to sell ya if you believe that garbage.

I don't think a lot of independents want healthcare for illegal immigrants when many Americans already either don't have healthcare and where it's far too expensive for everyone.
When does it end? Obviously the left wants to allow non-citizens to be able to vote too, but that completely wipes out the right of citizens to vote. I'm not allowed to go to Brazil or Albania or India and vote in their elections....but the far left believes that anyone should be allowed to set foot on our soil for a day and cast a ballot? Crazy.
Student loans? Sorry, I paid mine (with two trips to Iraq). Everyone else can pay theirs too. Presumably everyone who gets a college degree benefits tremendously from it, so why should people who never even went to college (and who thus, traditionally, earn less money) be forced to pay taxes to benefit people who did? In another vein, why should a rough-n-tough welder who decided to go to work for a living be forced to pay some crybaby artist who got a degree in painting and now works in retail folding clothes or busing tables? I'm throwing out examples, but hopefully somebody gets the point.
And then what other issues are on people's minds? Do we ban guns? Do we get even softer on crime? Are we going to let gangs keep dominating the streets of our major cities?
Do we keep sending kids off to die in the middle east for the benefit of Israel, oil companies, and defense contractors....because it's not just the GOP who acquiesces to that and the DNC is all for supporting those entities while giving lip-service to the electorate about being more anti-war. What other issues are on people's minds?
HOW can that be? WHY aren't they enrolled in the "far better than the ACA" plan Trump promised time after time after time would be in place soon after he took office?
"If Trump wins again, will the left, the media, and the universities blame the electorate again..."
yes.
"...or will they take the time to truly examine their own ideas, ideals, and policies?
no.
"Will ordinary people be labeled as "deplorable" again?"
worse.
